Best Buy No longer sells anime
Posted 2/18/10
That sucks, and it's a pretty dumb move on their part. If they got rid of video games next they'd lose a lot of customers.

I don't really buy anime much...all I've really ever bought was some Astro Boy "best of" DVD which was just like 6 random episodes..lame >.< I wanna buy the boxsets..oh, and some Chinese bootlegged copy of Nana whole series. That's the only anime I ever bought, haha. HMV has a really good selection though!! They even sell the Death Note movies, and I bought Utada Hikaru's Heart Station CD there. ^o^

I really do not like to buy online because of all the identity theft but it looks like I have no choice now

OH NOES THE HORROR!! INTERNET SHOPPING!! :O

Seriously, why are so many people afraid of buying stuff online? That's so overrated...as long as you know you're buying from a safe, verified source. I occasionally buy things online...clothes..comic books...without fear of identity theft. You just gotta use your head!! If the site looks shady, well duh it is...

May I suggest http://store.viz.com/? Some people don't really like VIZ Media though, but they're not that bad....

Sorry that's the best I got!

Looking at the article, which was back in March 09, I can still say that Best Buy did not discontinue selling anime. Certain stores have a better selection, but its one of the places that I always go to. There were new anime releases this Tuesday, and the store had them as well. As for all those who say they never buy anime, Come on people, support the business, if you are true fans.

Use paypal. Just about every site that uses paypal is legit. There is no way for the people your buying from to get your contact information, credit card, ect. It's safe with paypal, they are like the middle man. You give them the money, then they hand it to the seller.

'Best store I found for Buying Anime was SamGoody but that is no longer around this area for the last 5 or 6 years. Best buy around my area really did not have a anime section. '

'I have not seen a store that sells anime within 100 miles of my place.' At that I be lucky if I find some shitty mindless fad like INuyasha at a store in the kid cartoon section.

'If I want to buy anime It has to be order from online.. Or I have to move to some other area.. far from my home.

Lucky for me On Mondays they at least have anime on the Sci Fi channel late at night.

Really? I never knew best buy sold anime. However I wouldn't ever buy anime dvds from a retail shop. You can get it for free over the internet, free 1080p downloads is better than dvds, right?

I had no idea that Best Buy even sold anime in the first place. At least the Best Buy nearest me doesn't, i don't remember ever seeing anime there. I just go there for electronics. I don't even buy anime or manga, so it's not a big deal for me. Just buy your anime online then.
