Why do you think Ikuto means in episode 74 when he says, "Grow up already, would you?"
People have been making different geusses and stuff...so, say what you think!

But here, in the manga, he says grow up faster.

obviously it means... stop acting like a kid
but i think he meant mature faster so she can see what ikuto has actually done to her in the past 73 eps compared to tadase.
adding to that
amu has a childish crush on tadase (in my view and possibly ikutos) so he just wants her to know to loook back on the past and relize who has really been there/sacrificed themselves for her 24/7.

...
its ikuto.

for what i understd when i read it and saw it today, for me what he ment is for her to be older, so he can tell her what he really feel. since she is a lot younger, well that what i think. 'cause is clear he love her too but she is still a minor and he is a senior.

I think he is trying to tell Amu to grow up faster so she is mature enough to understand that Ikuto really loves her. When she's mature enough, older enough, Ikuto then can tell her what he feels, because Amu is still in elementary school, which too young understand what is love? I dunno, i think that Amu still don't understand what is love and what is a crush. As you can see in ep 77, he says "Never mind, I don't think I will. Grow up already, would you?"

I don't think it has anything to do with her age.
In my view what Ikuto means by "grow up faster" is that he wants her to realise her real feelings and learn to distinguish a simple childish crush from real love

or it might mean he wants amu to quickly grow up to be a teenager so that people will be more accepting of them if they date? Don't know...just first thing that came to my mind when he said that

Maybe he meant for Amu to grow up faster to near his age so they're not 5 years apart anymore and no one would say anything against IkutoXAmu. I dunno xD (But really, I think that the only real reason that TadAmus say that Amuto is not good is that they're 5 years apart)

i think he is embarrassed at how young she is and he wants her to grow up quickly. i do think he was referring to his age.

but of course with age she will mature and learn what love really is...

Me and my friend were discussing this...

It obviously means he dislikes the age gap. I think he thinks how we Tadamu fans think. Because he believes that the closer the age thing, like Amu and Tadase, the more compatible. Well maybe he got a little "jealous" (I admit myself) about overhearing Tadase's confession (Which was, pretty awesome by the way) and somehow thought of the idea about the "age gap" thing.

But there's the itty-bitty chance about the "childish" thing though. But Amu's a kid, she can't help it. (LIKE MEEEEEEEE)

@Sunny-chii:
No. You may read those things around forum posts "Why we hate Amuto," but that's not the reason. Tadamu fans just say that to make an excuse. Honestly, I would say I didn't pick Amuto because I just don't like the awkwardness. I just don't like 'Bad Boy' 'Cute Girl' combination. But I do not know about the others. We like Tadamu because of the sweet, young love that makes me all - DOKI!

But hey, that's just an opinion. >_>

Please do not rant me because of my opinion. I mean, we ALL have our own tastes, don't we? That's what makes the world special and makes it fun.

In the manga, Amu and Ikuto were discussing the difference in their ages before he said that. However, I don't think it's because of the actual age gap at all. Five years really isn't that much. It seems like a lot right now, but when they are both older, it doesn't. I think what Ikuto was referring to is what a lot of people have pointed out - that he wishes Amu would mature faster so that she could understand both her own feelings and that he really does love her. Right now, Amu is confused and she doesn't know what she wants (yet). With time and experience, someday she will know. However, it must be difficult for Ikuto to wait, particularly when she (sort of) accepted Tadase's confession, so he expressed the wish that Amu would grow up faster and thus, understand faster.

I don't think Ikuto really cares about the age gap.
Beside,5 isn't a big number.
Look at your parent,I'm sure not all of them are the same age.

hmmm i think ikuto said 'grow up faster' goes to both amu's physical n mental

cuz as she grows up her way of thinking gets more mature rite?

n when they reach th same stage [rite now amu = kiddo, ikuto = teen goin adult] he hopes amu will understand what he meant better.

*
usual kiddo stage = 6-12
teen stage = 13-17
young adult stage = 19- twenty sumtin
adult stage = probbly 30++?
