Once, after I saw the red I just out of my seat and turned it off. I left it alone for like around 3 days, after that it worked find, I felt like I had a heart attack but I got lucky.

I bought mine when they were new and it's never red ringed.
I've always had it on a table surface and have it standing up on its edge because I heard that was the best thing for its vents to all be able to blow air.

I've had three red ring on me. That third one I had to do some hard core negotiating with Microsoft to get them to exchange it for me. I've always had them on glass surfaces that were air cooled, but what can I say, Microsoft being cheap by taking out that one heat sink compromised the integrity of their product. Funny thing is, the reps aren't allowed to call it the red ring of death and they'll always refer to it as a hardware malfunction. I told them the first time to can it, its the red ring of death so suck it.

I've had one 360(5 years) and its never RROD on me. I've flashed(soft mod) the drive a couple times and while I'm in the console I usually clean it out completely. IMO RROD should be covered by Microsoft for the life of the system, its their defect to begin with, no matter how much time has passed after you bought it. What could a user possibly do to cause the RROD if the system wasn't defective in the first place? Throw it in the oven, lol.

My Xbox has red ringed 4 Times. Had to buy two replacements in that time just so my game's wouldn't be a waste.

Once but that was because it took very long for Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam DLC to download. Besides, it happened after the update that rectified that flaw.
