With the older white Xbox, I had it happen to me twice. After the second time in 2008, didn't have any issues with the Red Ring. Once the newer model came out, I upgraded and haven't had it since. I honestly haven't heard anyone else having the issue with the newer black models.

I had 2 xbox's that kicked the bucket. Though both were never the actual 3 red rings that spawned this phenomenon (There's probably a better word I can use, but I can't think of one)

My first xbox lasted about a little less than a year. It started getting some weird texture/colour/pixel issues or something of that nature before it died. The replacement console I got lasted about a little over a year. It eventually went through this thing where I could not play any new games. I could still play any game I had previously played on my xbox, but any time I popped in a game that I've never played before it would crash after 5 minutes.

After that I eventually bought a new console and I've had no problems with it since. That was about 2 1/2 years ago I think.

I've only ever had one 360 red ring on me and that was the first one I ever had. Got it back in 2005 and it lasted a good 2 - 3 years before it got the RROD.

I'm rockin' the Slim 360 now and it's been perfect, no troubles with it at all!

I bought my first xbox 360 christmas 2006. It red ringed after a month. Then, I sent it in and when I got it back it red ringed AGAIN. Then, for the last time, I sent it in and got it back. It has been working ever since but they apparently inserted a large frickin' fan in there. Because every time I turn it on now it sounds like a lawnmower. Seriously, the next xbox better not have these problems. It was ridiculous.

None, coz I never own one... PC's are a very stable system btw.

i know but the pc doesnt have alot of the games i wanna play ya know?

Oh I understand, coz consoles cater to low I.Q. gamers.

haha, arent we hilarious, i love my pc to death, dont get me wrong, but there are some games i like that the xbox has that my pc does not

Yeah I know, coz the PC doesn't cater to low I.Q. gamers that's why there is a need for consoles.

thats not true, cuz if you think about it not everyone can afford a pc that can play the latest and greatest games, consoles are cheaper then gamer made pc's and all you need to do is put the game in and play, but your getting off topic

Yeah its off topic coz you quoted my posts regarding my preference to PC. Here in the Phils, consoles and its games are too expensive compared to a decent gaming PC. Btw, I love to chit chat and all but I'm kinda busy finding a way to play the new Valkyrie Profile game on the DS!!! PC's are really handy when it comes to emulators

no offense but i think he has the right to quote anybody, especially because he created this forum topic. Also branding people that play consoles low I.Q. is a bit offending to some people. Anyway i never had RROD yet and i hope it will go on like that.

Horrible view of stuff.

My first Xbox got the ROD and I fixed it lol.
Just watched a video on YouTube of putting towels around the Xbox and unplug it, then leave it for I don't remember how long.
I didn't believe at first but I gave it a shot and it worked.
I guess it depends on the reason that gave you the ROD.

Only one. Though I'm on number 4 now.

Got a 2007 Arcade model and it ended up having disc tray issues. Didn't red ring, but did break. Sent it in to Microsoft and they replaced it. The replacement did red ring, but it lasted like 2 years. Then I got a new arcade model, and it still works today. Recently traded up to the special R2-D2 new model Xbox.

I have had an the xbox since it came out. And it hasn't red ringed once. Well, that's just because I know how not to get the red ring that the majority of people don't know.

I can give you help if you want to prevent it

How I see it, the older models are beta. o;
Mine has not broken down on me, it's 3 years old and I'm hoping to go for another year.
