The believe that I should go to hell and burn just because I don't fallow there religion.

Close minded Generalization and a poor excuse to put down Christians.

'Not a generalization, its a point, why should I give someone ideas or religion respect wen it is telling the rest of us that you can all go and burn in hell forever not matter how nice or good of a person they are. On top of that if you don't know what your religion is about, or just say your of that religioun without understanding what your religioun is, how that make you any better than some mindless sheep following blindly something they don't even understand. Cherry picking a bible taking what is good and leaving out what is bad, just to blindly feel free to believe in a god without having to look at the bad side of it. I am not Generalizing something by pointing out the fundamental aspects of the religioun. Ether you believe or you go to hell. Take that out and your not a Christian, so how did I Generalize?

You just did it again. That's twice and yet you are still in blind denial. MY word, you are much worse than a extremist christian. From what I read coming out your posts seems like you know nothing of how religion is really taught, but look more into the extremists who are following FAITH the wrong way. So you are saying you are upset with me because I am a catholic? Then you are ignorant my friend because I have never told you that you were going to hell. The only way to turn to the bad side of your religion is by following Christianity to the extreme. And please prove to me, prove to me, prove to me, that accordingly to the faith of Christianity, you will go to hell if you are not a christian.

How's that for your silly generalization

Pay attention! I am not talking about the people of a religion. I am talking about the religion, not the people or there own take on there religion. But the religion it self.. Understand I don't give a damn what your beliefes are if they do not affect me, I am just showing no respect to the religion not its people and there ideals.

Certainly it is rude to be told you are going to burn in hell. But if you do not believe in the religion, and you do not believe in the hell they claim you will go to for not believing in it, then why are you upset? It's rude as a personal insult made by a particular person, but to be made by a religion as a whole? I don't bother seeing it as rude since i know it's just a fear tactic to try and get us to join. If anything, it's just a little pitiful.

Its the same if a group of people picking on someone and told them that there nothing but a pile of shit and they will be a loser for the rest of there lives. Its not that It matters that they think that hell is real or not, its a matter how religion gets away at using such tactics and yet people don't quistion the morality of it.

Please, no need to use random insults and pretend they are the same. that insult you provided is not the same, it's merely an insult, and not a tactic to convert people to their faith at all. I'm not saying that justifies it either. And of course people question it, but what do you want done about it?

How about they stop trying to justafy it?
How about they take it out of the bible..? You do know there was no hell in the old bible.... they only added hell to scare more people into joining, or not questioning it.
Its like the America's money. At the start america did not have in god we trust on the money. But some religouse people did not like that and in the 1950s they changed that. Yeah Lets forget religioun does not belong in are goverment.

In a sympathetic view, where we forget that we may or may not believe God etc. is even true: That would be unreasonable, as it is a belief that they follow as it were the absolute truth. That's similar to when Darwin was questioned for his theory of evolution, because it insulted the beliefs of the christians that they weren't created by God etc. You are insulted because their belief conflicts with your own. The particular religious belief is certainly, in my view, a fear tactic. But that isn't necessarily so in the eyes of those that follow and believe in it. They just see it as fact rather than an insult or a fear tactic.

What I'm saying is, even if it does insult you, and even if it does conflict with your own belief system, I don't feel you have a right to question them for doing it when your own argument seems to be about how they questioned or changed what you, perhaps, believed in. (For lack of a better way to describe it)

I know you keep saying you're questioning the religion itself rather than the people, but if that's the case you shouldn't be taking it personally since it doesn't seem to be a personal thing. (isn't often I stick up for religion... to any extent o.o)

Most people who are Christian were just raised to believe it and never bother to question it, but that doesn't mean they actively condemn people who aren't Christian. As far as I know, most only believe that there is a God and that Jesus is their savior, but few of them actually care about or know what's in the Bible. You shouldn't be upset with all Christians, just the "active" Christians, the ones who read and know the Bible and go around telling people that they're going to burn in hell. Hating all Christians because of the actions of a few of them is no different than hating all German people because of what Hitler and the Nazis did.

Yeah but they still follow that religion that tells them that only way not to go to hell is to believe in that god.

It would be the same as if to follow Hitler and do what ever he said even if he is killing millions of Jews. Even if they do not agree with it there just as guily if they follow him.

It's still possible to follow a religion without following all of it's teachings. How many of them have sex before marriage, or get pregnant as teenagers? How many of them drink and do drugs? How many of them judge others when supposedly God is the only one allowed to judge? How many of them go to church regularly? Obviously only a handful of them follow the Bible down to the letter, most don't even know what's in it. All of my friends are Christian, Muslim, and Jewish, and they all know that I'm atheist, yet none of them have ever really cared or told me that I'm going to hell, most of them said they're only religious because "they have to be." Some of the most popular people in my school (which is full of mostly Muslims and Christians) are atheist, and everyone knows it, but only very few people have ever told them that they're going to hell.

What you're doing is no different than what religious extremists do: trying to make everyone think your way because you think their way is wrong, without even fully understand the way they think. Many people think that all of us atheists are evil because Hitler and Stalin were atheist, so since we're in the same category then we must all believe in the same thing, so they think atheism= genocidal totalitarianism. But that's obviously not true, or else I would be ranting and raving along with you. They misunderstand us because they look at us as a group rather than as individuals, and you're doing the same thing to them.

Plus, only singling out Christianity is hypocritical, since there's other religions that teach that non-believers are going to hell. This implies that you have some sort of irrational hatred of all Christians based on the experiences that you've had with a few of them
