I don't really prefer watching War films, but if it's historical i'll go watch any!!.
these are my fave historical war films

TAEGUKGI

This is the best south korean film i've ever seen so far. It is so sad and touching, yet thrilling and entertaining.

Won bin made me cry

LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA

This is one of the simplest and least mediocre war films ive watched; it simply explains what the Japanese soldiers were like in the war, and now, somehow, I can understand why Japanese soldiers were brutal during the World War
btw,.I can't get over how Japanese soldiers commit suicide.

oh my, ninomiya is one cute soldier.

how about you?

May 18 is an amazing movie - I have it on DVD, and everyone in the house is subjected to it at least once a month.
D': I cry every time I watch it.

Love love LOVE "Letters from Iwo Jima." I was just beginning to like Nino when I saw it, and this established his talent as an actor (as if years of film/J-drama work didn't already). Plus it's interesting to watch if you have family who fought in World War II, like my grandparents. And it's funny to see the little flashes of real-life Nino in the character if you follow his appearances (as himself) on TV.

Also, it's a well-done film overall and Ken Watanabe and Ryo Kase (the guy from "Honey and Clover") are always great. :)
