I've read articles on Unit 731. I've seen documentaries about Auschwitz and one on the 1988 uprising in Rangoon, Burma. All I have to say is that the desire for control, the desire for power and the desire for superiority are to blame for these atrocities. The sad part is that all humans should consider each other equal, but instead we hurt, and kill each other because of the desires for power,control and superiority.
