The saying of becoming one was said in Linebarrel of Iron and in Dragonaunt. I THNK it was said in another mecha anime where mecha could combine and make a super mecha and thier pilots have abilites same as of thier mecha.
Can you define what does becoming one mean and explain why it is bad to let that happen? People say that anime is very CRAZY. Is becoming one a good thing theoretically, like communism?

Duh, it's the foundation of the idea of rallying. You rally many together to become one united force. Cuz we all know a group of chums fighting for one purpose is more efficient than a bunch of people doing their own thing. Why do you need to know this?

Becoming one could also be attributed to the act of reproduction creating a child with both people's characteristics.

Out of topic but, wth...

Somehow it doesn't matter in what genre you say "becoming one"
It could be horror, romance and comedy or mecha like this one.
But it's such a cliché that it makes me cringe >.<

communism isn't a good thing. it leads to mediocrity and base performace. the better will outperform the mediocre in life or economics everyone who posted here need to rewatch the original "Ghost in the Shell" movie and think about its implications some its on veoh.com in many languages. it is variation and the survival of the better one that makes us all better

when they say combine one in linebarrel of iron, it is meant to lose your humanity and become a android by fusing with machines. in other anime to become one could mean to join powers together, to join as whole if they were originally 1 like piccolo and kami in dbz.

it depends on if u lose ur humanity that makes it good or bad. i have seen alot of anime where creatures combine to become one being and that makes a special hero but there minds are still seperate, retaining the individual's humanity.
