umm how do i like change the color of my pic with gimp? like making the pic more bluer or more rainbow like??:)

To change to a solid color:

Make sure the mode is set to RGB
Right click, go to colors
Click on "Colorize"
Adjust it to the color you want, you can make it lighter, darker, or a deeper color.

To change it to multiple colors:

For this you'll want to use gradients

Open up a new layer, make sure it's set to "Transparency".
Go to the layers tab in the tool box and click on it.
Either go to the gradients tool in your tool box and click on it, or click the "L" button on your keyboard.
Choose a gradient that you like. Fill in that layer with the gradient.

You now notice that the gradient is completely solid and you can't see the original picture.
Go to your layers tab, and you should see a little scale button that you can slide from left to right (opacity) . Above that is a scroll box that says mode.
Change the mode to one to your liking and your colors should be changed.

Also you can change the opacity of the layer to make it lighter than it is.

how can i make my avii into thin & slim in gimp??(in pic tutorial)

well you can click on the scale tool in the tool box and drag it to the size you want, or set it to the size you want. I wouldn't recommend dragging it to the size you want, the proportions will get all messed up and it will look awful.

The size i usually use to get a long and thin avatar is 230x700. ( width x height )

Let me know if this helps.

thanks..its really help cuz i only have a problem wit tat^.^!!

First download and install brushes into GIMP. If you don't know how to do that Click Here

Getting brushes:

Rendering:

Scaling Images:

Adding images, brushes, and layers: - ignore the brushes part, since you'll be adding them into gimp.

You use a filter to make the text like that.

Click the text button, type whatever you want in, then close out of the text box.
Go to filters
go to alpha to logo
go to
neon
set the effect size and the color
do not hit create shadow.
click OK

Now your text should look like the one in the sample pic.

Also, if you want to make beams glow, this is the same procedure.

And the font is JaneAusten. you can get it from dafont.com. Click Here

When you click the text button a box should show up that you type your text in right? You first exit out of that, before doing anything else. It might interfere with what you're doing.

Okay, on the layers tab, it shows you all the layers you have open right? Well in that area where it shows them, there should be 2 layers called background. You'll want to delete the completely black background. All you have to do is right-click it in the layers box and hit delete. Then you should be able to see the original picture as well as the text. Also merge the remaining layers together.

Also on the front page, under featured videos, there should be one that's called How to add beams, or something like that. Watch it, and the procedure is the same, for both text and adding beams.
