Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time has already come out in the US and it's out in UK/AUS tomorrow.
It's an action based rpg, just like the rest of the series, essentially, a cutie-anime-style diablo clone.
Anyway it's a fun 4 player co-op game.

History of Crystal Chronicles.
The first title on the gamecube just named FF: CC was a bit of a let down, as you had to carry a lantern and couldn't go off the screen.
The DS title : Rings of Fate, fixed this up a bit, letting anyone go anywhere, no more annoying lanterns to carry around, but still only let you play with local wi-fi.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
Now Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time goes a step further, having a Wii and DS version, obviously the wii version has slightly better graphics, but it's the same game and best of all, you can play 4-player co-op across platforms in both local wifi and over the net! That means you can play over the internet with anyone around the world as long as they have the game, whether they have a wii or a ds, or both!

Looks a lot better than CC, which sucked badly. I'll wait till I can get it cheap.

Yeah the gamecube one was terrible.
But the ones after that were much better.
The gamecube one was the one where you had to carry around a lantern and people were kept on the same screen as you.
I suggest to you not to judge the new ones by that first terrible one!

IGN gave it 8.5 saying it was the best crystal chronicles yet, but it's a lot better on the DS than the Wii, control wise.

Edit* Just picked it up today.
I couldn't see any wii copies in the store, so I got it on the NDS instead.

CC is based roughly more on the older final fantasies.

The game's actually pretty good, like a diablo/phantasy star/monster hunter version of Final Fantasy.

i played the other CC on the ds since my niece had it and she is 4 so really didn't understand it. but if like monster hunter then ths must be a good game, wen you mention that it is based on the older FF? such as FF 3 and such?

Yeah, like the ff 3 they remade for the DS.

There's lots of graphics relating to like red/black/white mages and so on.
Kind of like how final fantasy 9 re-used some of those old elements.

But yeah, it's a fun game, it's a mix between monster hunter and zelda really. 4 Player multiplayer over the internet + puzzles + monsters + items + weapon/armour crafting + boss monsters.

Heard the DS one is better control wise.
The wii one is a bit of a pain supposedly to choose magic on.
Guess it wouldn't matter too much unless you chose the mage class, lol.
