The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson.

The story of six kids who were focred to grow up as lab rats in a diabolical labratory they called the School. Having escaped some years earlier, they are enjoying their life of freedom in secret when suddenly their pursuers find them again, determinded to take them back.

These kids are special though. They can fly. Not like superman, though, no these kids have been apart of human/animal genetic experimentations for years, the first successful hybridization known to man. They are 98% human, and 2% avain/bird. All they want is freedom, but betray leads them facing down against the School again along with an army of Erasers, another hybrid species created to be ruthless and blood-thirsty.

I started this thread becasue the Fifth book just came out: Max.

So far they go:
Maximum Ride: Angel Experiment
Maximum Ride: School's out forever
Maximum Ride: Saving the world and other extreme sports
Maximum Ride: Final Warning
Maximum Ride: Max

It's in the teen section, and was inspired by earlier books he had written that incorpaorated both Max and the school, along with similiar other characters. They were titled "When the Wind Blows" and "Lakehouse", personally, I liked the first one better than Lakehouse. but I Highly recommend the Maximum Ride series, I bought the fifth book last night and finished it already.

Have any of you read the series and what did you think?

Off topic: Why is there not a Book section in the forums? Or a books/writing section? JC

EDIT: The reason I found out about it, in school, my Government/Economics teacher held off class so she could finish reading the book. She told us all the sit down and shut up so she could finish it, then once she did, she told us all about the book until class was over. I was a senior in highschool and this woman was about to retire. It's a damn good book people, don't underestimate it just becasue it's in the teen section. If you like sarcasm, you'll enjoy it. Action, you'll enjoy it. Awkward romance? It has that too. Diabolical scientist with inhumane objectives? That too. Bad guys that are just in it for the blodshed? Yep, it's in there too.

And that's just in the FIRST book.

Lets see... Max was 309. They really aren't that long, each chapter is only like two pages long. lol

Completely depends on the reader as it is completely DIFFERENT from Twilight. This is about gentic experiments and Max who is armed with awesome roundhouse kick and sarcasm. Twilight is a mushy lovestory involving vampires.

@bakamaster: As you are being a complete dumb@$$, I will not even validate your question with a proper response.

Oke now something serious, do you actually think that they'll sell it here in the Netherlands??

I'm ''really'' interested in that book

I'm 22 and I thought it was great. Don't be intimidated by the subject matter, the words are broke down small enough I'm sure you can understand.

I should think so, his books are usually translated into a ton of freaking languages and published world wide. If not, that is what the internet is for, no?

Very funny. Wanna read a good book? Read Faust from Johann Wolfgang Goethe. I guess this book would be too difficult to read for you >_>

terribly written

it got worse in the later books,

the plot was okayish.
