i totaly agree with reemate,and i liked the story so much,and the ending was logical,it is boring always to watch happy ending animes all the time,some drama and action are important too,but i did nt want to make my self depressed so i was watching lovely complex with kuroshitsuji alternevaly,so if i felt sometimes sad i would recall the so funny and happy ending of love com

i think the ending was perfect.. tho i'm a little sad cause they didn't show how sebastian took ciel's soul..
and i dont think there will be a second season..
i can only put my hopes in the manga now..
but jeez, waiting for the new chapter to come out is a torture..

Personally i like the ending...i think that give his soul to Sebastian was the least Ciel can do. I'm a little disapointed with the fact that we haven't seen Sebastian's true form and how he has taken Ciel's soul.

i actually didn't really care to see Sebastian's true form...
it would have been nice, yes, but i thought the fight scene was good as it is XP
as for the ending itself, i thought it was fantastic. there're some animes that give too much closure, or too little closure, or just something plain stupid like the whole everyone living happily ever after thing. but i thought it was perfect, and although i would like to watch more, i would not want them to make a sequel. I think the ending itself was enough....now on to the manga! haha

the ending was pretty ambiguous with the last scene of Sebastian leaning over Ciel..and now, Ciel most likely died :x

Well what i can say...I'm totally speechless after watching it...well aside from the fact that its TOTALLY DAMN GOOD!!. It left me motionless for several minutes and i realized that I'm gaping...!!
Its totally awesome from the beginning until the last episode..its really struck me hard.. I still can't believe that Ciel died. The ending was smooth and magnificent...Ciel's air of superiority remain until he died..he died magnificently..(love the bed of white roses though..0
I love the the last ending song "Lacrimosa" it really suits the ending..its a perfect ending like sachi said.
What i can say about Sebastian..is he is really a hell of a butler.. He is a genuine Akuma..and a Butler.

The story starts and ends mysteriously....

Like everybody else said, the ending was fantastic. I just finished the anime a couple of days ago and I thought it was really good. Now I am reading the manga, still remains one of my favorite animes.

You're right about the "soul eating" situation. Indeed, there is no proof Sebastian had taken his soul in the end. The whole meaning of "Then.. Young Master" or the other way around when it blacked out (I forgot exactly what he said) is meant to bring anxiousness. Way before it was obvious they'd probably make a continuation. I'm pretty sure the sequel will remain about the same main characters, just different enemies? But I believe that in the second season they'll either cut to some other scene and Ciel and all his servants are still alive, happily joined by the "one hell of a butler", or they will have a scene where Sebastian finishes his sentence. For some reason I had a dream the night I finished it xD And in the dream, I think it was Agni, Greil, and a bunch of others appear and do something. o_o; I doubt that'd happen, but I believe there was more than the contract keeping the two together. If you hadn't noticed throughout the episodes whenever either got hurt there was a sign of pain and distress on the other's face. It might of been one-sided, but I believe there was more. To explain also that I think they had something more than just a butler and master's bondage or a demon and human's bondage is the fact when Sebastian was trapped for Ciel so they could figure out who was betraying the factory and drugging the candy Angela (whatever her/his name is >_> I didn't like that thing..) offered Sebastian something, I can't remember clearly what but an offering of a feast for him. (Like a feast containing souls instead of food) in return for Ciel, Sebastian doesn't even hesitate with his response. He clearly rejects her and tells her that the old him only knew how to eat and that souls weren't what he wanted at the moment. The only thing he wanted was Ciel, and Ciel only. In that, he never says "Ciel's soul" and what does it matter who's soul it is? AND when Ciel returns to England and the Angel has set fire upon it, Sebastian tells the Angel that he will not move unless he is ordered from his master, in which he does not have a master. Meaning what? Ciel is NOT Sebastian's master way before Sebastian saves him at the Queen's palace. I think it was love.. Or something, I don't know I'm insane. ;D I wrote a lot more than any of you. I think I'm obsessed. >_>; But it was amazing, I couldn't picture it better because I think its faults were meant to be in it somehow. There were no mistakes.

If anyone would like to reply, I've got just a trial, email me. [email protected]

Also, I was reading along on the other forums and came across one not about the ending but another episode, but it gave me the idea that the reason Sebastian might keep Ciel alive if not for all the other reasons, it'd be because he, himself had part in the murder of Ciel's parents. In one of the episodes (I think 18) Sebastian kind of gives off this vibe that he's hiding something by asking Ciel if he really wants to know who killed them, he seemed to have.. just changed completely for a second. If so, Ciel's contract with Sebastian is until the end, meaning Sebastian would have to kill himself, and if he did, what'd be the point? o_o; So maybe that's it >_>;
