Now I won't go explain stuff about torrents, you're on your own.

About torrents, some say illegal, some people even sued ThePirateBay (The fun thing is, The Judge also does torrent and was currently downloading "House" while the case was still on going)

For me, Peer to Peer (Google it yourself) is a very nice idea, Normal FTP sucks in our location(Philippines)

Dont open, may contain ideas

It's way better than a stupid franchising in the Philippines called COMIC ALLEY
WHICH *SELLS* DATTEBAYO, GG, CHIHIRO(+many other fansub groups) BURNT DVDs FOR A VERY EXPENSIVE PRICE, WHICH WE COULD GET FOR FREE!

Why do people deserve free anime? Producers produce it, writers write it, actors do the voices, animators animate it... People put a lot of work into it to make a living. Anime is not a social service, its a product that media companies market for profit. I am not against torrenting (I have dl anime before via torrents) but I haven't torrented (or watched anime) in almost a year and a half. I think if you torrent it should be before it's licensed and only by fansub groups whose goal is to share anime and not make a profit.

I don't use torrents. I forget to delete my finished files so I won't end up seeding the files and well that's what mostly get you caught.

I would spend money on actual movies, CDs, anime, manga but I don't have the money for it. Shipping and handling costs matter too (For my music.)

uTorrent (or, its proper name, MicroTorrent) is the best cuz you don't have to restart the computer after you install.

Which means you can install this on your school library computer, and download using their blazing fast internet. Oh yea, rmb to use the setting that hides the torrenting program in the background so no one knows the program is on. And you're also helping the torrent community by seeding from a super fast connection

Just come back at the end of the day with a big external HD or something and transfer all your movies, anime, etc.(pr0n?! heaven forbid...)

i only download music off the internet. i'm too lazy to drive to chinatown to buy the CD's lol... all videos i stream. i never download videos since my internet connection is slow. i can watch all my dramas on viikii fully subbed. they get the subs up in usually a day from episode release. no need to download since the downloadable full sub versions take days to come up. the quality of streaming isn't as good as downloadable, but idc about quality that much as long as i can see what's going on.

Piracy. Why just torrents? Sites streaming licensed anime should also be sued.

You are right... Licensing companies do overcharge massively.

Torrents are genious (not just for the so called "illegal" purposes), what an amazing technology.

Because sharing is caring.

Doesn't an artist want as many people to see her/his as possible? Besides being an artist/voice actor/ anyone in the entertainment industry isn't a real* job anyways (don't start an arguement about it). As far as I am concerned they really shouldn't get any money, unless it is a donation, or a competition. I would donate, but I don't think any of them accept donations.

*real job = something people need, like water, food, all trades related jobs.

Random positive side of torrents >

Artist creates music > Music goes on CDs > CD gets ripped by someguy > Gets uploaded on a torrent site > A guy downloads the artist's

CD > GUY/GIRL Becomes a fan, goes to concerts, buys some artist related materials > Artist has more profit!

From my own view :

I played Call of Duty 4 Pirated > Got bored of single player > Now goes to a store and buys an original copy > PLAYS MULTIPLAYER DAY AFTER DAY

^ Agree. I became a fan of an awesome singer and I just can't wait to get a job to support his future projects. I am even planning to attend one of his U.S concerts. ^.^v

what are torrents
Posted 3/29/09
Lol, a heavily ''torrent'' user.

I don't support feeble things like ''anime companies'' if they're like this site, blocking everything.

Torrent is a good thing which exist to save people like me =P
