All that I torrent is anime. Actually, the collapse of the R1 market is what got me into torrents. After Geneon's crash, I was ready to accept the fact that I was never going to see Black Lagoon Second Barage fully released, so I got the torrent. I justify it because if a series is never to be licensed for release here (the states), they're not really losing any money on the deal (this concept is a bit of a stretch, I know...). I suppose I could buy a R2 player and pay the assinine japanese market prices, but being that I don't work as a bank executive, I can't afford that. I understand that what I'm doing is technically copyright violation, but when series I've watched a torrent of is released here, I do buy it! Thanks for Black Lagoon, Funimation!

I torrent all my movies, music, anime (rarely), etc.
Idk about copyright laws, etc. They have enough money. I'd rather not waste mine.

Im one to spend money if I feel that I really liked what they had given me so I give my support back in return.

Say I download music, and I really like the artist. I'll go out and buy the album regardless of having all the songs already downloaded so that I can support them and hopefully have them make more songs. Because honestly its really lame to buy an album and then only like two songs and then go " but atleast i didnt steal it ", because then you're a chump.

Same goes for movies. I go out wiith my friends every week to watch whatevers happening, if what I watched really impressed me I'll go and buy the Blu-ray. For example, V for Vendetta.

Software torrents, yes they are quite risky.

Be sure to download from people or groups with a solid fanbase such as Reloaded, Skullptura, Axxo, Dattebayo Etc...

And make sure that THEY are really the ones that released it. Not some lamer that uses axxo's name to put his crap cam vids

Why do people deserve free anime? Producers produce it, writers write it, actors do the voices, animators animate it... People put a lot of work into it to make a living. Anime is not a social service, its a product that media companies market for profit. I am not against torrenting (I have dl anime before via torrents) but I haven't torrented (or watched anime) in almost a year and a half. I think if you torrent it should be before it's licensed and only by fansub groups whose goal is to share anime and not make a profit.

Nerrrrk.... If it's good, I'll buy;; If it's bad, I don't think it's good, so I don't buy under the premise that it's good.

Torrents are for poo-jews.

I download stuff I cannot get in my area and sometimes download series or movies if I am not sure if they are any good. Though we are embarking into new territory when it comes to copyright and I am a proponent of creative commons. Here is a film doc about copyright, sharing, and remixing. It is called RIP:A remix manifesto http://www.nfb.ca/film/rip_a_remix_manifesto_1/
Also I recommend Sita sings the blues an animation made by Nina Paley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sita_Sings_the_Blues
Sita sings the blues has gained much praise besides the fact it is not bothering with copyright laws. You can watch it for free or download it for free the creator has allowed so.

Torrents: I don't understand how to use torrents very well. Doesn't matter since the virus issue.
Porn: I've watched it before....nothing special
Copyright: This copyright thing sucks. If they give them credit then there shouldn't really be a big issue over it and it's free publicity.
