Could jumping off an object at the last second save your life?
Posted 3/30/09
Hm, i believe that everything falls at the same speed. If that is so, then I find it hard to do any kind of jumping in the middle of the air without having some form of solid surface that isnt moving to press down on. And even if you could, it wouldnt do much good. For example imagine jumping a skate board off a 30ft building. Do you think jumping off that board at the last minute will cause you to be any less injured. The answer is no and the reason is you are going to be going just about the same speed you started off even after doing your last minute jump. The same goes for any platform.

Nah, you'd both be falling at the same speed so it doesnt really make a difference, but good luck trying to stay on the falling platform all the way to the ground.

Well having a platform could help you push off into a roll to change your momentum to a different direction, taking away from the impact, but just jumping at the last moment isn't gonna do much other than make you look like an idiot.

I don't think gravity will allow you to jump though...

Is it even possible to jump up well you're falling down? Wouldn't the speed of falling be too heavy to jump up and away?
