I had a look at the petition here. I think it would be better to do up one of those official looking ones, I'll have my friend forward the address of the petition to the director of SB. Posting / letters etc will take a bit too long and it's a waste of paper. Petitions that are online shows you exactly how many have signed up, sometimes where they're from and you can write a short comment as well

Here's one of the better sites: http://www.petitiononline.com/create_petition.html

I think this is the best way to go, anyone want to forward me a simple letter from the heart so i can start this ?

^_^
Thankies

Online petition do not work. The best way to get the POWERS THAT BE's attention is to send postcards. Believe me on this... I know this for a fact.

If you REALLY want another season...

Make it short and sweet... "More Skip Beat please." DO NOT get overly dramatic or rude, because that would be counter-productive. Tell them you watch it on Crunchyroll. And if you bought a membership let them know that too.

ALWAYS be polite, and to the point.

Send a postcard...

4-3-12, Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo 105-8012 Japan

It will cost only 94 cents from the US.

I'd have to agree with the-nishikaze on this one. Sure, you can get some numbers with an online petition, but unless all 22,000+ fans sign the thing it won't count for much. Anybody can take 2 seconds to type in a name and go along their merry way surfin' the net. It takes the guys in charge just as long to glance at a list and go "Hey, we've got some fans..."

However if, in this world of technology, they were to suddenly get a bunch of letters piling up on their desks that they have to sort through, they will get the message. Please send them a card, you can afford 94¢ and it doesn't even take up much time. The paper would be worth it.

As for the time issue in general, whatever kind of announcement they would make regarding SB wouldn't happen until around the summer line-up announcement anyway. That's more than enough time for the letters to pile up, if we all start sending them.

The only thing is, I don't know the name of the person to send it too. Hopefully if they add up it will get someone's attention.

Send those post cards!!! Send something that screams from where you are from so they can see this series is popular and who is watching it!

Online is anonymous. Unless everyone signed it with a verified Public/Private key system then it lacks credibility. Besides, physical paper has a huge impact. It says, we want it and we want it bad enough to actually go out of our way to express it. That's the point, isn't it? That we are willing to be inconvenienced to voice our opinions. That we're serious enough to drop $0.94 on a postcard. Its too easy to click something. There's no value in it. We didn't expend anything real, time or money, to do that. Might as well fart and claim your protesting global warming by having to endure the smell.

We the consumers should have influence over products. But we don't! Any why? Because we just don't give a damn and making our point is just way too hard for us now-a-days.

I'll be sending a postcard. Maybe even try and write it in Japanese...

Online doesn't have to be anonymous and it gets around much faster. If you're hoping to get the 22 000 + fans, why assume they're going to go the route of posting and not an online petition ? The fact is most people prefer convenience over anything else, and this would be the quickest way to build steam

Re: The nishikaze (apologies I don't have a name to go here). As per our private conversation, I didn't sent a postcard in, just typed up an email, she wasn' t there so it took a little while but when she came back, we got something - it won't hurt to try out a proper petition, just saying '2nd season!' in a disorderly manner where there are a few comments (blah blah..is this legit' etc ) thrown in as well doesn't seem very orderly imo and we don't know how many people are going to send in postcards - no way of checking unless you have a contact in the studio.

The only reason why anyone not living in japan saw Skip beat is because of technology so let's not downplay how important it is. If you look here: http://www.gopetition.com/features.php there is a way everyone who actually exists can have their name added and it be validated: just include phone number as one of the fields. That way anyone from the studio wanting to know whether this is legitimate or not, can just call up a few people if they are seriously interested in finding out whether these are just hoax numbers. We can sponsor the petition to see that it gets maximum coverage on all search engines, if you're wiling to spend around $1 to send a postcard, why not spend it this way ?

On-line petitions are okay... But believe me when I say the actual impact of the postcard is stronger. I meant it when I said I know what I'm talking about.

I've been a party to two different campaigns for canceled shows in the past. Both were good shows canceled due to lack of ratings. There were e-mails and on-line petitions but what really brought the point home was the mail. One failed because the POWERS THAT BE never had any intention of giving it a fair shake. The other campaigned succeeded.

Actually sending something that they can hold in their hand is so much more powerful and says so much more. Besides... why not show how much you love the show by sending mail?

The more ways you tell them you want more, the stronger the impact.

Besides... how cool would it be to send a local postcard picturing where we fans live? From New York? Send a postcard with the Statue of Liberty. From San Fransico? How about the Golden Gate Bridge.

Do you think it's okay if the postcard or letter is in English? Because I am an extreme beginner as far as Japanese goes...

I hope that a lot of people decide to mail in to ask for another season! Bet they'd consider it even more if people said they were looking forward to subbed DVD boxsets.

English is fine so long as it says 'Skip Beat!' and 'More.'

For those who want to go the extra step with English and Japanese:

スキップ・ビート! は私の特に好きなアニメです。
(Sukippu Bīto! ha watashi no tokuni suki na anime desu.)
"Skip Beat! is my most favorite anime.

より多くのスキップ・ビート!アニメエピソードを作成してください。
(Yori ooku no Sukippu Bīto! anime episodo wo sakusei shite kudasai.)
"Please make more Skip Beat! animated episodes."

It's obvious that very little people will send a postcard.

Infact, I, myself have no idea how I would go about sending a postcard to another person in my state. Yet alone Japan. In my opinion we should just do both. Everyone can sign a petition, and if you are badass enough, you can go about sending a letter for that extra boom.
