Nothing happened, not today at least. It was just a bluff. And I was expecting that.

It's better to be safe than sorry. Even if it is a joke I'm checking my Windows Updates just in case. Here's what some lady said on Yahoo! Answers:

I feel as though there is no conflicker and that it is jsut a conspiracy brought out by the software developers who are losing money because people are not buying as much protection for their computer and they have become more economical withtheir purchases. This 'conflicker' has upped peoples protecton purchases a lot I don't know the exact number but I know it to be true.

For some reason, I somewhat agree with her, but I'm not taking any chances.

You're a fucking retard.
No virus can infect you for just turning it on.
It affects PCs.
Your library computers cost taxes.
OUR taxes.
Stop wasting other peoples money.

Actually, some viruses can download themselves to your computer, for example, if I made a simple program that generated random IP addresses and sent itself there, it would infect a computer that had that IP address as long as it was connected to a internet connection, and that tiny virus would spread insanely fast. infect thousands of computers in minutes if coded correctly.

There's already one that does that.
The one that sends a page of the bible to a random IP.
So you really ARE a hacker.
=_=.
If it's such a tiny amount of code, norton could tell that it's a virus.

Nah all i'd have to tell it to do is generate a random number from 0 - 9 and assign it to a varaible, and do that a few times, each new random number gets a new variable and then take all the random numbers and string it together so it looks something like 14.0.2.134. then tell it to send itself to that address and if the address doesn't exist just try again put that into an infinite repeat loop. be a fairly small program, dunno if it'd be dected as a virus or not, but it'd get through to some computers and start multiplying insanely fast.
