For those who believe that gay rights are not valid and not considered a form of civil rights because being gay is a choice, listen to this; While it's still debatable whether or not being gay or bi is just a choice, being a Christian,Jew, Muslim,Hindu, Buddhist, Shintoist, etc IS a definite choice. Therefore by your criteria, religious rights should not be counted as a form of civil rights. I just adore irony lol. http://www.positiveliberty.com/2008/05/the-religious-rights-unreal-understanding-of-homosexuality.html

Gay is genetic in some people, thus not a choice.

I never said that being gay is a choice. I was just stating the hypocrisy of religious people saying that gay rights are not valid because being gay is a choice while they themselves are something that is definitely changeble. That fact that anybody can be converted to another religion cements my viewpoint

It also bugs me when they state the high economic and educational status that Gays have as a reason their rights don't count. By their logic, they might as well say that Jews, Asians, Asian Indians, Middle Eastern people, White people, are not eligible for civil rights because they are also of high economic status and that only blacks, hispanics, and American Indians are qualified for civil rights. Now doesn't that sound like discrimination to you? Not to mention that many of those religious people of white decent also complain when racist blacks say that white people are not elligible for civil rights for the same reason why those religious people state that gays are not eligible for civil rights. Ironic isn't it?

Also, stating that gays are more educated and make more money than everyone else completely negates and contradicts the religous person's perspective that they are all diseased people who are a drain on society. I mean common sense says that you can't be a drain on society yet be highly successful at the same time. It's simply not logical. But then again bigots will use anything, whether it's a positive stereotype or not to justified their stance.

You can never win with a Bigot.

What's Christianity and all that blah blah?

Never heard of them. So..if I never heard of them or completely ignore their existence then by default their opinions are worth jackshit because to me...they don't exist. AM I RIGHT?!

Seriously, they should give gays their rights; by establishing specialized clinics to treat them..so they can recover their human instinct.

I hate how religion ostracizes and reprimands homosexuality/bisexuality when they themselves contradict their own 'established' beliefs and standards. Saying something is a choice and because we are given a mind to choose rules out civil rights? HAH. With a majority of religion/religious sects that oppose homosexuality/bisexuality incongruity is their progress and reason is recessive.

I was talking to one of my students on the phone earlier and she's a young Korean who was raised in a Christian environment, our topic for the day was about "How Come Homosexuals Don't Go Extinct." She really delineated her repulse for our kind and since that her religion opposes gays that they should be annihilated or "cured." She was completely unaware her teacher was one. xD But I let it slipped through and avoided dragging it into contention, I could get fired for duking it out with a student. xD

Well one of the reasons it doesn't go extinct is because its genetic, more like a mutation actually, so its gonna stick around for a while.

I suppose I can attest to that since my mother was a lesbian (according to my father) and they were friends and decided to have a child but unfortunately she had a traumatic heart and died shortly after delivering me. I'm definitely bisexual but verging onto complete lesbianism if it weren't my inclinations for wanting children of my own, but oh well. And yes it's gonna stick around for quite a while, it won't die out eventhough extremists and the like want it so.

Being bi-sexual is basically taking the easy way out of picking your sexuality. Even if you went around and killed every homosexual ( both male and female) person on earth, more would pop up again in no time, its never going to go away, and the fucktarded anti-homo christians are going to ultimately loose this battle , homosexual marriage will be made legal, its simply a matter of time, but even for right now, people think just cause they can't get married their out of luck, simple things called domestic partnerships, solve that problem, but none of the gay people seem to put any effort into finding alternitives and thus discovering this thing called a domestic partnership, so their basically shooting themselves in the face here, But since homosexuality is genetic form some people, it's not a problem and i see nothing wrong with it, as if we didn't have enough problems in this country already people need to fucking stop making more.

There was nothing wrong with homosexuality in the first place at least IMO. I can't understand how it's actually 'wrong.' Perhaps those involved in religious sects/religion are afraid of underpopulation or inequivalent male-female partnership distribution or something like that, like that's gonna happen any time soon. Sheesh. There are greater issues to be resolved other than gender preference.

It's wrong because some magical invisible being in a floating castle in the sky told them it was bad, so they all mindlessly believe that because their too fucking stupid to actually think for themselves perhaps ?
