I love Japanese culture and I wish one day to visit Japan , but first I was just wondering how it rally feels to be a stranger\ foreigner in Japan?. (Especially if you are a girl with blue eyes and light hair). I heard a lot of bad and good rumors but I’m not sure what of it is really truth.

yes, i've been a foreigner in japan,
we went to okinawa to visit my uncle who's serving in the U.S. airforce there. It was really nice. i love it there, we stayed in chatan town- where i think is the best place to live because its only 2 blocks away form 3 gigantic malls and 4 blocks away from the beach. yeah, it was my paradise. The thing is it's hard to communicate there, when we arrived at the airport, my uncle was late in picking us up, so we wanted to take a cab or something, but then we didn't have money, it was damn hard to talk to the people there at the airport, you have to use a lot of hand signals and words again and again. but then, it was the best, i want to go there again and visit its white sand beaches and especially eat at the RAMEN shop there, promise, its so goooood. I once thought of actually hiding there, (kind of a stow away act) and stay there forevah, and eat ramen a lot. which only cost 600 yen. anyway, theres nothing bad there actually, because where i stayed it was a quoted "american village" (quoted) because a lot of americans hang out there, by the way, im mostly British (mix race-mine is so complicated):] i have light brown eyes and have a natural blond hair, but then i dyed it so yeah.

wishing i could visit japan again XP
i think im goin to visit again this year.
i love the toilet there too, its so advanced, nothing like what i have here.

I'm French, blonde and I spent 9 months in Tokyo last year. And...it was wonderful !!!
I only have positive things to say about it. I absolutely loved it there. I speak a bit of japanese and that helped, because it's true that it's not that easy to get by if you don't speak a word. At Narita airport, most people speak English (to some extent) but after that, you're on your own ! (but everything is written in english in the metro stations)
But with a smile and a nod and a respectful attitude you will be fine ! Actually, what surprised me the most when I got to Tokyo was how SWEET and friendly japanese people are !! Genuinely ! I had some high expectations (I'd wanted to go there for years !!!) but I was still surprised at how pleasant, relaxed and just incredibly sweet everybody is! Being French and blonde never seemed to be a problem, in 9 months I never had a bad experience as a foreigner. I didn't stick to foreigners though and avoided Roppongi like the plague! I have lots of japanese friends now...and even a wondeful (and gorgeous) japanese boyfriend !
Tokyo is as you would expect , exciting, modern, fun but it's also a very relaxing city, with temples everywhere and a very relaxed atmosphere at times. Shibuya is thrilling and fun, Asakusa traditionnal, but the best thing to do is to walk around the city (it is SOOOOO SAFE even for a single girl) and get lost in its small streets. For me, it's just heaven. I can't wait to go back . I highly recommend it ! (one thing to know though : summer in Tokyo is very hot and VERY humid !) (I still loved summer there though, for its street festivals everywhere and the Hanabi (fireworks display) every weekend)
Two more things : FOOD is FAB and I agree with JYwriting, toilets (washlets) are something else ! The best in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for going on for so long but Tokyo (and probably the rest of Japan too, but I haven't seen it...yet !) is so wonderful I could talk about it for hours ...
