The christian god is perfect, he can make the devil disappear with a snap of his fingers, but he's waiting for Judgment Day.

If god truly exists, what's stopping us from taking control of it ? Ah, but we already have taken advantage of what god's powers reaps. The Holy Crusades, man acting as the pardoner of god for a pretty penny or two, reputable holy men single handedly controlling an entire country or having their way with little boys .. God's ideology is an ideal governor for man's ethics but if man is capable of creating laws governing civil conduct and social living, who is to say that man isn't also capable of creating an indisputable figure as a guide for our morals? |

Haha good luck with that. I mean look at Family Guy. From their point of view God created everything from a fart. And who is to say that isnt a possibility that started it all. But hell it could be possible I think. I don't know how someone would do it but good luck. Now that I think about maybe you should read the Golden Compass. The main story of that book is people trying to kill God. Pretty interesting read in my opinion.

Yes it is true that we've turn over god, but no humans can be religious. Instead we turn god into diffrent objects around the world such as soccer, fashion, and the media (wow that explains a lot about society). The reality is that the world dosent know what god to belive i, when the true god is standing right in front of us

If god truly exists, what's stopping us from taking control of it ? I think you already know the answer to your own question. Assuming god exists in the classical Judeo/Christian/Muslim/Sikh sense of the word then taking control of him would mean being more powerful than the most powerful: which of course we’re not. |

The strange thing is, we're the ones who created "god". Why? Coz if no one believes in "god" then it will not exist. In short, "god" dies and thrives with it's believers.

I agree with VictorByDefault, but it's more taking advantage than taking control.
What I think is that we call God omnipotent, we say it created us, that it's perfect, but wanting to try and control of a cartoon character. We can draw the image, we can make the character do whatever we want in our minds, but in the end, we can't really have that character affect us in reality. Just like God that character has no control over us, it was something we created out of convenience or want. Just because it's there doesn't mean we can reach it, like a kid who grows up to be a midget trying to reach a cookie jar. Even if he reaches it one way or another, it'll end up being empty in the end. Sorry for the midget thing, but it was the first thing that came to mind. |
