So, no one here is disappointed over the show not picking up from the end of the movie?

For me it was kind-of strange watching al getting his body back and fighting together with eric at the end, going for destroying the gate and thne suddenly al's back in his armor in the other world and it's as if nothing's happened :S

dont compare this one with the first one or movie. its a completely different story. just throw out all previous knowledge you may have from the first anime cuz it'll do no good this time.
which is exactly why I'm disappointed, I personally think it would have been awesome to watch al in his real body adveturing together with eric with the goal of destroying the gates

the attitude of the drawing/series seems to be a bit more childish aswell, but maybe that's just me~

there was only the one gate. it was destroyed at the end of the movie. i love the drawing its more like the manga. i dont think a sequel would've been near as good as the first anime. i mean it wouldnt make sense to start an anime from a series that had all the loose ends tied up. anyway just wait til the dublith arc is done thats when it'll be an all new mystery for you people that havent read the manga. lol

it was weird but not disipointing cos to be honest i always felt the ending of the series and movie was disipointing so to have the chance of seeing a different conclusion for me is brill

I didn't think it was weird at all. That one ova with the children was supposed to be the conclusion, telling us that Ed and Al never made it back to their world, but still made a great life for themselves in ours. I thought that was a great ending, and if they had picked up from the ending of the movie it wouldn't really be about alchemists, and while it would be really cool to see their lives between the movie and the ova, I don't feel that it would have been a good move commercially for the company, so I understand why they didn't choose to go that route (although I can't really understand why they took this particular route either...). Honestly, I was satisfied and didn't feel any additions were needed. Fullmetal is my favorite series of all time, and part of the reason is that it was beautifully executed, and I actually feel that this new series is somewhat of a detriment to it (although I still enjoy watching it ).

no i agree that it was right for them not to continue from the end of the movie, it was a good decision. But it just slightly confused me when i started watching FMA botherhood as i hadnt read anything about before so it just was what i was expecting

i can understand that if you didnt read anything about it before hand. during these current episodes though is when the anime and manga started to differ greatly. so, if you love FMA as much as i do. this when you'll really get into it again......that how i was when i read the manga.

im lucky i have a horrible memory cuz even if i didnt read the manga i dont remember much about the first series. so i'd probably still have the same mentality about it. lol

It's not really a remake... The second series follows the manga storyline.... It's as if the first series is actually the filler series...

I'm disappointed with the subs that came out for FMA Brotherhood ep 15. They are far too literal, and although I understand enough Japanese and about Japanese to get what they mean, the subs didn't do the story justice. I hope someone else subs, or re-subs the episode. I mean, one of the subs was SPANISH! I understood the Japanese for that line... but SPANISH?!

It's not that it was Spanish, but that the rest of it was English! I'm not angry that it was subbed in another language, but that in an ENGLISH translation, there was a line of Spanish subs.
