It's not rare, it is simply cost alot to make it.

Well it's rare here. Combining gambling and technology is hard to come buy. Gambling shops over here only sell the traditional ones, tables, poker tables, casino cards, and etc. Technology stores over here rarely have anything related to gambling things like automated shufflers and auto mah-jong tables. They don't sell things that are "interesting" but not things that people buy a lot of.

There are literally thousands of these autodealers available. And despite what people think, there are autodealers that support both the US versions of Mahjong and the Japanese versions of Mahjong simultaneously. Prices are all over the place, and also dependent on if you want to order a full set of matching furniture to go with it. So anywhere from about $500 to about $50,000 for a set - your pick of plastic, false wood, wood, marble, steel, titanium, gold inlaid wood, etc. etc.

If I had a house with enough room, I would love to have one of those - but then I would need some people to play with me, so it probably wouldnt work out in the end.

Umm, koi, buddy. There has been research going on for quite some time already. Unless you can find a mahjong table that can make walls for 152, 160 or more... no mahjong autodealer is made for US versions, or most likely, you don't know what US mahjong even is to make that judgment.

Plus, your prices are confusing autodealers with "any game set involving a table, regardless of whether it's an actual autodealer, or if the ashtrays are made of gold plated platinum." I saw various auctions at various prices for autodealers, so you might easily be able to find tables at any price point to back you up, but autodealers for American or Vietnamese styles just don't exist.

Um, they do exist. And all these options exist too. Like I said, most people believe that they do NOT exist. But they do. Check out Huwang's offerings and you will find about 5 lines of them. That is just ONE manufacturer that makes them with the 152, 160 and up settings. There are many others.

And you can even order just the insides of the unit and make your own custom side panels, mounting panels, etc. too - so if you want to make a totally custom table, you can do so.

And yes, the tables come in all those types, with and without furniture. I was not kidding when I said there were thousands of makers of these tables. And no, I am not talking about the ashtrays. I am talking about the tables themselves.

I don't think I would ever buy one [unless I'm rich & actually know how to play mahjong]...but my parents do..and ever since I was a toddler, I always remember, my Mom and her pregnant friends play all througout the night..it was bloody loud

And now, like roughly 9-10 years later...these older people come together and gossip..while cursing each other for winning money ... so yes, if there ever was one that's around $300 I would defnitely buy it just for my parents..and my ears, as it's pretty loud, in case nobody's ever heard them mixing the mahjong blocks[cards?] all througout the night...

If I had any real interest in the game and knew how to play mahjong I would definitively buy one if I could.
Right now I have this burst of interest in it since I have been watching this anime, but I don't know if it will last or not.
Here is a clip from one on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffheXp2oi4E

It's worth it cause when the anime finishes and they doen't sell them it's a collectors item and you can sell it for alot more so if you but it for 2000 you can sell it for 200,000
