Call of Duty 4 is released November 2007

December 2007 (One Month Later) Call of Duty 5 is Confirmed.

November 2008 Call of Duty 5: World at War is released.

This game is no different to the first besides a different storyline, and re skinned weapons and characters. It has very slight differences and has really nothing new besides Nazi Zombies... which isn't enough to make a new game out of.

And now I hear Call of Duty 6 is coming out in November 2009...

That in my personal opinion is absolutely stupid :)

Way to exhaust a title out of everything that made it good in the first place...

Worse news as well... Call of Duty "6" (Modern Warfare 2) is going to be practically the same as Call of Duty 4, just with little bits added on...

This is pretty similar to what happened with Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider, and to a lesser extent Mega Man.

People will (SHOULD) get tired of the constant rehash and they'll stop buying it. Hopefully then Infinity Ward can work on something new and innovative.

PLEASE GOD DON'T BE MADDEN OF FPS!

CoD4 > CoD:WaW

Oh, and i for one am VERY excited about modern warfare 2. WWII has been beaten to death, and i am actually tired of people making WWII games.

Indeed. WWII games are so overdone, it's almost kinda funny. And I mean comon, Nazi Zombies? That's hardly a new idea, has no one ever played Wolfenstein 3D?

Anyway, I loved CoD4, and it certainly was just as great as it was made out to be, I'm hoping that Modern Warfare 2 will be just as good, or better. Hell, even a bit worse would make it miles ahead of most games. Though, I seriously doubt I will be able to play it on my computer. Time for some serious upgrades and overhauls methinks.

well DLC can only be effective for so long.
I do agree with you regarding this "exhaustion of titles" but you have understand something...

the videogame market has ALWAYS been like that.
Take one thing that works and run with it.
As for your statement about Cod6 being basically Cod4.. maybe it is, maybe it isnt.
We simply dont know yet since the only footage released was a teaser
trailer. But in all honesty cod4's storyline was GREAT and i hardly give a crap about single player
FPS anymore... but this one had me hooked.

Just incase people didnt know, they're dropping COD part of the name.
They're just calling it Modern Warfare 2.

If they're smart they're going to start a new series.. the warfare series.

The single player, for sure.

Anyone outside USA will disagree with the multiplayer though.
We play CoD:WaW just because of it's local filter.

Though I have no clue as to why, most people that play WWII games seem to be from Europe. Finland, Poland and Austria seem to where most of them reside.

I know I just said that WWII games are overdone, but I still cannot resist the notion of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory on the weekends.

Yeah, it's because CoD4 basically just kept patching itself to favor USA game hosting, leaving anyone outside USA stuck in games with Red/Orange ping, even if the majority of players aren't actually playing in the USA.

But WaW remedied the issues with a local filter, I'm sure CoD:MW2 will feature the same filter when it's released, it's just upsetting that they never patched it into CoD4.
