no, eternal sonata came out on 360 then the PS3 version came out a year later with extra content. and i'm sure there are more instances where the PS3 got an enhanced version of a 360 game.

agree with you the ps3 version is always enhanced with new feature but always comes later after being released in the 360 so i guess thats kind of fair since waiting is a hassle. but ninja gaiden 2 didnt arrive in the ps3, only ninja gaiden prima which is sort of a spin off or side story not the main title.

I dont think that u can download those feature becose if it does then the story will have to be rewrite for the newest one and is the X360 disc gonna be able to support it too ? To add Flynn and Patty you'll need the story too but if u have only the character then what,you're gonna start with it like that with no idea who she is(bah check on wiki or something) ? Hmm so fun to see people use to down the ps3 that all game is on X360 and that its getting less good game but now... The only thing left is too know if its coming out in US or not(tho don't really care much ill get the Jap version if is not coming out). Peace X360 fan no hard feeling

Important Quote:

Japanese tech news site IT Media yesterday went straight to the source, Bandai Namco, and asked a couple hard questions: Was Patty intended for the 360 version, but cut? Was an enhanced PS3 version planned all along? The official response: "Absolutely not. That text does appear in the game, but it does not refer to Patty". When asked about the possibility of Patty and other PS3-exclusive Vesperia features coming to 360 via DLC, the answer was "That is currently unknown".

Also noticed in the US version, one of the scenes had this....

"There's a woman's pirate hat inside the drawer. There's a name on it, but it can barely be read. 'Pa...?'"

It was mentioned in both the US and original JAP version.

This brings me to a 30:70 conclusion that there is a chance for a DLC for Xbox360 version, even though Bandai Namco denies it.

Hope you guys find this information useful, not like the troll jcchampion above me.

It is useful. I do remeber that scene its in the light house, right? And even though it is currently unknown about the DLC, that is always better than a Goddamn "No". Anyways, thanks for the information.

But the real hurt to Xbox 360 owners is that it was proclaimed to be "exclusive" for the Xbox360 when it was first released.

This puts a dent on the meaning of "exclusive" and might see more titles from other franchises jumping ship to the PS3, which in my opinion, has better long-term success.
Another franchise speculated due to this is Star Ocean 4, where the developers' intentions to port it to PS3 is still unclear.

Do note, the requirement to PORT a game to another console is to have added features. Hence, the ported game will usually be much better than the original.

This could also be attributed to the pressure Sony is placing on it's competitors, having recently gone on the offensive to woo developers to create games for the PS3.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but feel that's a bit unjustified. There is no 'requirement', the added features are a marketing ploy to stir up some press before they re-release it on the other system, otherwise no one would care and the re-release would sell very poorly.

I think calling it an 'enhanced' version, just because it has a few extra playable characters is stretching it a bit thin (although I'm sure the marketing division at Namco Bandai would be quite thrilled), even if they made the extra characters available via DLC, they're obviously not a very big part of the overall story anyway, so I don't think I'd be able to justify the purchase. The truth is no sane person who's already finished it on the xbox 360 is going to play it through again just so they can spam the A button a lot with a pirate girl and go through the same exact story and events all over again.

I'm sure the ps3 fanbois will try to put a spin on it and tell you it's because they don't love xbox360 anymore or some utter rubbish. The truth is Namco Bandai just uses this so ps3 fans of the game don't feel like second class citizens who only get a game ported over to their console after they're sure it's sold well enough on the primary console. The game sold considerably well on the 360, so why not grab a tiny team of people to port it over to the ps3 so you can sell it all over again to another audience? It makes sense, especially during these economic times.

It's not a marketing ploy, there's a written guideline to porting games to a Sony console.
Something about Sony's dumb requirement of 30% additional content for any title to be ported to their console.

Additional Content (confirmed)
* Branching Storylines
* Full voice acting
* Flynn as a playable character
* Ties-In with Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike
* New playable character, a pirate girl named Patty Fleur
* New Cutscenes
* New Subplots
* New Costumes
* New Bosses (Including the Sword Dancer)
* New Dungeons
* New Hi Ougi/Mystic Artes
* New Skits
* New Logo
* New Animated Scenes
* New Sidequests
* New Songs
* New Artes
* New Monsters
* Repede as a selectable on screen avatar
* Repede also gains a costume,which isn't in the XBOX 360 version

And just for the record, Patty is slated as a MAIN supporting character (according to Dengeki), not a sub character with no plot like Welch Vineyard was in the remake of the First Departure.

I didn't quote the last paragraph of your comment since it sounded like an XBox360 fanboy comment.

Source please? Never heard of anything like that, ever.

See the thing is, half of those are just tied into having a new character, and a new dungeon(s). They've just written an expanded list to make it seem like more than it is. That's what I'd do to if I was in their marketing division.

Cut scenes to intoduce the character, new areas to introduce character, having new music for those areas, new dungeon in new characters mini-plot, having a new move set/costumes for the character is obvious, I mean, they don't have an old one to use right? Having new monsters in a dungeon, having a boss in the dungeon etc.

In short, new character, with a mini plot and additional game areas.

I never said she had no plot. just that she had no real bearing on the overall plot, but a "main supporting character' is a 'sub character'. I was quite aware there will be a few extra zones/dungeons and a mini plot involving her in the story, I just doubt it will have any obvious impact on the actual storyline's conclusion as a whole and thus, I consider her a needless addition to the story.

As for my last paragraph, I was having a go at PS3 fanboi's, I own all consoles, (because I can?), I don't think I'm an xbox360 fanboi for seeing it as a marketing strategy (a good one) to revitalize the game and create press for it's re-release. But there's no way I will re-buy it for my ps3 just for these tiny changes which amount to nothing in the overall story/plot.

I stand by what I said, it's easier to get people to port a game that has sold well, than remake a new one, so in the current economy releasing games on all platforms is a much smarter move.
