I Do not agree with that.
I don't wish to change my fuckking name, thanks.
What kind of a closed minded shovenistic ass hole comment is that?
it's verging on racist.
You need to sort it out. that's digusting.
If an american can't say "Saiyori Yagawa" then they must be retarded on a different level.
Allt hey have to do is adapt it to their accent.
Ugh, fucking stupid comment has me all angry now.

I think the really interesting point here is how the debate started. Translated records vs. US issued records that prevented people from voting. School registrations might have the license names, while watchdog groups use birth certificates, etc to confirm who their citizens are. Records not matching exactly might turn people away from the polls and having their voted counted.

Isn't it awesome that some people within politics look for ways to exclude people from voting and then have the audacity to blame them for the problem?

Social Security numbers can identify just fine. So why the need for pronounceable names. My Chinese friend's parents have a harder time reading English than an American reading Chinese. In my opinion it would be easier if all Americans learned some Chinese.

I don't agree with that. I think it's great to have an original name other than bob or stephanie, loL! OMG just learn how to pronounce. They are just lazy people unwilling to accept anything that deviates from their culture.

That's their choice if they want. Without it, they wouldn't have their individuality, and it goes against the equal rights l suppose.

i don't think there's a need for asian-americans to change their names just so to make it easier for a certain race to pronounce...^^

It already happens. Some of them choose english names when they go to stay elsewhere. Most of the people I've met at school have english names and their real names in their, err, native language. I don't think it's completely fair though, they should keep their name. if they're worried about it being said wrong they can come up with a nickname, or an english name they like instead. Like people do now.

That woman is so racist. Not all Asian name are hard to pronounce. I live in NY and I heard a lot of other non-Asian name are very hard and long to pronounce like Indian, Pakistan, Polish, Russian, Albanian in general. The Asian in Texas should protest about this if this turn to law.
