That sad for her and her family. In America, if they found out that you are an illegal immigrant, they would send you back and if your children were born there, they have to leave the children in America.

yeah too right! those selfish parents! they should just fucking die!......what makes this story a bit different from the norm is that she was given the choice not them and that her parents cannot return to japan within 5 years so she is basically telling them to dissappear

what are you talking about? In the article it says that she has a choice between japan and Philippines, her parents want her to stay in japan and she wants to stay in japan. If she went to the Philippines she has to live on a farm and probably work, if she stays in japan she gets education. Do you not understand? Any parent would do that for their child.

At least the parents can come back in five years

I agree with charlock. How is it the child's fault that her parents have to stay away for five years? It's the law.

Her parents say her life will be better in Japan than the poor farming community where they will be living in the Philippines.

So obviously, her parents had agreed for her to stay. What would you rather do? a. Let your child have a better life and education in Japan or b. Suffer in the Philippines with you where she could possibly be in even worst care. It hurts not to be there, but in the end it's what 's best for her. How is she being selfish or not caring for her parents? You people sound like idiots.

That kinda sucks, but I can't say I blame her.

neither can I. of course, it's sad having to see ur parents go...but Japan, like she said, is her place to be. at least, the parents can go back after a few years.

Her parents were deported.
She would live in a country which language she can't even speak
She is studying

I think her Situation was the reason she chose to stay in Japan.
