i also like that most of the time the mangas with the most "beautiful" ( yes this is subjective according to what you like) drawing styles are also the ones with the most interesting stories... it only reflects that when the illustrator spends enough time on perfecting the art you can expect that the author will do the same for the story..
but its not the same for all mangas ofcourse.

The microscopic details hardly matter to me; some of them even tend to look a little messy because of all the sketchiness and everything crammed together. I go way more for cleanly done art. Enough detail to make it artsy, if they can pull it off (Kuroshitsuji is the best neat-but-detailed combination I know of).
