You have a right to believe what you want to believe as long as you dont hurt people. Some countries have these stupid hate crimes if you racist towards a group you get thrown in jail. Let those people be ignorant and lost in their own world but you cant punish someone for thinking differently. US is trying to pass a hate crime legislation hopefully that doesnt go through because that can easily be used to attack our first amendment.

Um, as long as it isn't harming or threatening the rights of another I suppose in reality they have that right. In saying that, we also have the right to question their racism, and possibly challenge it.

Amen.As I've been trying to tell people, "criticizing your opinion is not an infringement on your right to free speech." Unfortunately many people assume that if you have a right to free speech, then it means that nobody else can question it.Delusional fools.

Oh well.

There question is better, it allows two types of reasoning into the answer. But I agree with what you said, people have the right, it just may not be morally good. As such.

I dont have a problem with it so long as it doesnt obstruct the well being of others.

I don't really care at all, it's just another way of seeing things, bad or good. Though if it affects me or annoys me then I usually get pissed and don't let them off with it. As long as it's not affecting or going to affect me, I'm alright with it, I just tend to stay away from them so I'm not bothered.

I don't agree with discrimination, but think about it like this.

Do I have the right to dislike strawberry ice cream? The ice cream can't control its own flavor, but I don't need to have any right. I either like it or I don't. I don't need anyone's permission to dislike what I dislike. I can't really control whether or not I like it either. However, if I try to stop you from eating strawberry ice cream, or try to destroy all strawberry ice cream, then that's wrong because some people like eating strawberry ice cream.

(Do you guys know what I'm craving right now? xD)

So yeah, no one needs any *right* to dislike or like something. "You shouldn't, but you can."

This isnt about rights, this is about what is right or wrong. Or correct like CallmeHoku said. In other words everyone has the right to kill some one but because its wrong you cant kill. So I say NO you cant be racist, because its wrong.

Actually we don't have the right to kill anyone we want, because that would be infringing upon their right to live. Being racist doesn't infringe upon anyone else's rights, unless that racism leads to discrimination or some sort of crime, which happens often but not always.

you have the right to think whatever you want regardless of how dated and ignorant it is, but acting on that is another story

If it makes you feel any better, you still have the right to criticize a bigoted piece of shit. lol.

i wouldn't feel right stooping to such a level, no matter how much a person upset me with those insults i'll just ignore it & let that person show their ignorance proudly as they please.

Your ignorant too, every human is ignorant in some way. So why not turn it right back around, and insult em right back ?

That's how I would handle it. I don't believe in "being the bigger person" towards people who don't deserve my courtesy and respect. That's just a sign of weakness.

Yeap, Everyone is ignorant, there is not a single person on earth who is not ignorant, so who cares about "being the bigger person", i have a mouth, ima use it, if i get insulted i insult right back.

It's true everyone is ignorant. However there is a big difference between realizing your ignorance and educating yourself and being ignorant and remain in ignorance because doing so otherwise violates your "comfort zone." Unfortunately most people choose the latter.

I myself have never been the fan of "being the bigger person." I just see it as another form of a "hand-out" for people who don't deserve to earn it(in this case, the "hand-out" being my respect and courtesy). If you always be nice to people who have hurt you, then people will take advantage of that an exploit you even further.

People are too much of a pussy to stand up for themselves and they use "being the bigger persons" bullshit to excuse their weakness. That's why you see wimpy teachers who don't discipline kids in classrooms or people being punished in schools for defending themselves while the perpetrator gets away scot free. Vile.

I hate society sometimes.

but that is an immature way of looking at things.A lot of this "self defense" in the classroom is really petty "he said she said" bull that isnt worth defending in the 1st place. When people get angry, it always means they feel they get victimized somehow and someway.

to be the "bigger person" or "turn the other cheek" is a sign of str showing that petty words cant affect you. Now it goes into a whole other relm of philosophy when u r defending your safty.

same with being a racists.words dont hurt people without thier permission.so yes, they do have a right, and that right is protected by the US criminal justice system. peace over war

but this IS about rights...people r entiltled to thier opinions, right OR wrong.and u dont have the right to kill someone if its not in selfdefense.u have the ABILITY to kill, but not the right. peace over war
