You can post here useful and helpful links with regards to the status of our world. The links must be relevant to the cause we are fighting for, so please refrain from posting links that are out of the subject

Here are some links that was provided to us in a group in livejournal 'Gree-Daily"

1. Blackle.com

Have you been considering going to the dark side? Do so with your computer’s search engine. Instead of using Google, try Blackle, a black version of Google that consumes less wattage. Apparently, it takes 74 watts to power a white screen, but only 59 watts for a dark screen. The site aims to “save energy, one search at a time.” As of my last search, Blackle was able to save 1,198,694.021 watt hours. You can also follow it on Twitter for more simple energy-saving ideas.

2. Treehugger.com

If there was a bible for being green, this would be it! It has extensive information on saving Mother Earth—green news, solutions, and even guidance on how to live green. Powered by over 50 writers from around the globe, Treehugger’s mantra is to “love green through education and action” and it has done a good job, attracting over a million followers. Newbie or hardcore greenie, you’d find it worthwhile to bookmark this site, since it shows you ways to reduce our harmful impact on the planet.

3. Nigelsecostore.com

Aside from the cartoonish photos, what’s nice about this blog is its clean, simple interface design, set in white and olive green, making it easier for any reader to navigate.

Mr. Nigel owns an eco store, and through his business, is able to explore environment-friendly stuff and write about them. He provides insightful commentaries, personal experiences, and intriguing headlines on eco-issues. He also relates environmental issues to our daily existence, enabling readers to easily grasp them.

For instance: “Climate change and the food we eat,” wherein he relates how climate change affects our food production and quality.

Here is a man who lives and breathes green—he even shares his fave “green” music like R.E.M.’s “Cuyahago,” about the Cuyahago Indians of Ohio, and UB40’s “The Earth Dies Screaming,” about, er, the earth dying. Though it isn’t easy being green, Nigel shows us it’s worth a try.

4. Ageofstupid.net

After Al Gore’s shocking documentary on global warming, “Inconvenient Truth,” “The Age of Stupid” is the next big film on the environment to be released in cinemas.

It is a four-year epic from McLibel director Franny Armstrong, part sci-fi, part-documentary. Its premise is that we could save ourselves but we aren’t doing it—yet, thus the title “The Age of Stupid.”

To know more about the film, log on to this site. It has behind-the-scenes footages, reviews, information and eco truths. Entering this site is not for the faint-hearted, because once you do, you would never be the same again in your views towards global warming (it ain’t a laughing matter).

5. Kitchenrevolution.multiply.com

This site sells eco-friendly sweet treats—“Vegan treats that will rock your palate.” It believes that going vegan (dairy-free, egg-free, cruelty-free) means living more gently on Mother Earth.

This site practices what it preaches; the chef even stopped using parchment paper and now uses Silpat for cookie sheets, and even reusable non-stick liners for cake pans. With its consciously green effort, you know your food gets a lot of love.

Try Kitchen Revolution’s delectable cupcakes that come in boxes of 12, with over 11 flavors (P550 a box). Yummy!
