DAY CLASS CLASSES
ZERO POV

I watched as sensei took attendence. In front of me Yuuki was nodding off again. "Hey, get up!" I prodded her. Startled she turned to me, "Nee? Oh, sorry Zero." She stifled a yawn, " I guess i shouldnt be hanging back for Kaname sama!"

I felt a pang of jealousy. Yuuki had been staying back after gaurdian duties to talk with Kuran Kaname the previous nights. I was willing to bet she was'nt getting any sleep.

My heart hurts. I keep reminding myself that she's a vampire. I cant help feeling betrayed. I should have killed her by now.


Suddenly someone knocked on the door. Sensei went outside the classroom. I couldnt have cared less, and put my head down on the table as people around me started buzzing. I heard sensei enter the class followed by another set of footsteps, "All right, quiet down everyone, we have a new student here. Please introduce yourself."

i looked up for the sake of it. "Hello, my name is Saiko Tenjou. It's nice to meet you, please take care of me." said a girl brightly.

I blinked. I had'nt expected anyone like her. She had jet black hair upto her shoulders and a friendly demeanor around her. She smiled and i felt my heart skitter.

"why don't you take a seat Tenjou - san? You can sit there next to Cross - san."
I saw her climb to the seat and sit next to Yuuki. "Welcome to uor school," Yuuki greeted her, " you can call me Yuuki."
"Oh!" The girl smiled - my heart was skittering again- " Nice to meet you Yuuki - chan."

AFTER CLASSES, NIGHT CLASS ENTRANCE
YUUKI POV

" Yaaah!! Aidou - sempai!!!"
" Shiki - sama"
" Ichijou - san is so kakoii!!"

And so began a Gaurdians job.
"All right, move back! Its already past curfew!" Sheesh, no matter how many times i say it, they still never register. I saw Zero herd - or rather frighten - a group of girls from the entrance, away with a single glare.

"Zero! A little help here!"
"Now, now. What is happening here?"
I quickly turned around - only to bump into Kuran Kaname. "Kaname - sama!", i gasped. being around him made me blush......furiously.

"Kaname - sama!!"
"AAAAH!! Yuuki - chan is sooo lucky!"
"It's not fair Yuuki - chan!!

He turned to the crowd and put an arm around my shoulder. "Please help Yuuki do her job, for my sake??"

"Of course Kaname - sempai!!" they all echoed.
Before i could thank him, he pulled me closer to him, "Thank you for working so hard Yuuki."
if i was red before i was melting now! "Of course Kaname - sama! It's nothing at all!"
"I nust go now Yuuki, take care."
" Yeah, i will!" i shamefully swooned.

ZERO POV

I watched Kuran Kaname whisper into Yuuki's ear. Bitter pain went through me like a knife. I loved Yuuki too, but she's with that pureblood.

Her own kind...

CHAIRMAN'S OFFICE , ZERO POV

"Ah Yuuki, Kiryuu -kun" the Chairman greeted us jovially. "There is something i need to tell you."
"Is that why you called us?" Yuuki asked.
"Yes, but she's not here yet," the Chairman glanced at his watch.
"Who's not here?"

The door opened, "Sorry, im late Mr. Chairman, i got a little lost."
That voice. My heart skipped beat as Saiko Tenjou stepped into the office. "There you are!" exclaimed the Chairman, "Good. I'm sure that you two know who she is?" he asked us.

I nodded. "Well, from now on she will be a gaurdian as well. She is well aware of the presence of vampires, and our situation."
Saiko looked up and recognised Yuuki, "Yuuki chan?" The Chairman looked up pleased,"Good, you know Yuuki chan. Have you met our other gaurdian? This is Zero Kiryuu. "

She turned to me, and my hand began to move on it's own. I stuck it out. She shook my hand, "Nice to meet you." she said. I held her delicate hand in my own a second too long before I realized she was blushing and my own heart had stopped beating normally.

YUUKI POV
I looked from Saiko to Zero. It was odd enough that Zero was shaking hands, but she could'nt believe it when Saiko started blushing- and Zero had a pink tinge on his cheeks!! Zero!!

The Chairman nodded to me. He seemed to have noticed the same thing. "Yuuki chan, Kiryuu kun, you will be taking Tenjou san with you for gaurdian duty."

"You can call me Saiko chan...Tenjou san is too formal." She smiled.

CROSS ACADEMY GROUNDS, YUUKI POV

I watched Kaname kun through the window. Gyaah!! I remembered how he had thanked me earlier. Saiko was just a little further away. "Nee, Yuuki chan?"
Startled i looked away' "Huh?"
Saiko smiled at me, "Do you like Kaname sama?"
I tried not to blush. What was wrong with me?
"Yeah, i admitted, "Wait. How do you know his name?"
"Oh! The chairman had introduced us before. He informed him that I was a new gaurdian." She explained.

We were quiet for a bit. "Hey Saiko chan? Do you have someone you like?"
Saiko stumbled, "W- what?" Even in the dark i could make out the blush creeping up her cheeks. "N-no! Of course not!"
I laughed. It was too obvious. "It's Zero, nee?"

She did'nt answer. "Yuuki chan we should patrol other areas as well!" she excaimed hastily.

SAIKO P.O.V.

OMG!! Is it that obvious that i like Zero?!? Aaaagh! I'm just a new student! I cant just confess to him! I dont know anything about him!!
I remembered what the Chairman had said about Zero. That he was a vampire.

I bit my lip. It would never work out.

Suddenly I looked up and realized I had separated from Yuuki. I looked around, but nothing was familiar.

I was lost.

Great.

I triend to get back- when i heard a rustle. I put up my gaurd and laid a hand on my gun. The gun the Chairman had given me. The rustleing stopped. Then i heard footsteps.

The sound of giggling.

I followed the sound and caught two girls trying to hide behind some trees. I relaxed a little, "Hey! What are you doing here? It's way beyong curfew!!"
"Please Tenjou-San," i recognized one girl from class, "We wanted to meet the new student in the night class!"
"I don't care! It's not safe at this time!"

They both hung their heads. I turned around to march them back to their dorms...........and tripped over a stone!

"Ah! Tenjou-San!"
"Are you okay?"

I smiled sheepishly. Smooth. Real smooth. "I'm fine."
Dusting my hand i noticed that i had cut myself on a rock. It wasnt deep, but it was bleeding. I got up praying the night class would'nt smell my blood. I had to get them out of here.

I paused. "Um...do you know which way the dorm is??"

YUUKI P.O.V.

"Saiko-chan!? Saiko chan!" , she wasnt anywhere in sight. Aw man! Where did she go? I'm supposed to be in charge of her!
I faintly smelt......blood? Whose blood was it?

What if..........Saiko!

I followed the smell hoping it would lead me to her.


ZERO P.O.V.

I sat on the edge of the fountain. The new night slass student hadnt shown up yet. Sheesh. Now i had to WAIT on those filthy creatures.

I smelt blood. It was unfamiliar. I couldnt figure out whose blood it was.


KANAME P.O.V.

"The new student is late." I casually remarked. Ichijou looked up, "Perhaps he hasnt arrived yet Kaname Sama."
"He's here," I said, "I know he is."

The smell of blood. I guessed the new gaurdian had been a little careless.

"Aidou." I called out.
"K- Kaname Sama!" He saluted me.
"I have a favor to ask." He looked up. "Find the new student if you can."
He bowed, "Of course, Kaname Sama."
