Not sure if you're talking to me, or just in general, so I'll pretend you're talking to me. I think you've got it right that it would deplete members to about 100. Groups on this site are very weird about keeping large member counts, and I don't understand it (every forum I've ever adminned was big about regular purges), but is there any reason NOT to drop down to that size? Aside from the fact that others might not join because 100 people doesn't seem like a lot for a group?

-About that statement of yours I think I have a suggestion other than what you've shared. If I made it a closed group or something like that (I saw groups with their group information hidden to non-members). If we do that, maybe more people would join? The downside to that idea is that people won't see what there is to the group and might not want to join at all.

I believe you're thinking of "Secret" groups. I believe Closed groups simply require membership.to be able to post in them, but it's been awhile so I may be wrong.

This is a very difficult problem to face, indeed. I mean, people come to crunchyroll to watch animes (if the current crunchy still allows its members to watch at all because of all the licensing stuff) and possibly discuss them in the many groups here in the site - a story/fanfiction group would less likely interest them. More people are drawn to join anime/manga/character/pairing fan clubs, role-playing groups and also the avatar/banner/icon making/requesting groups so there really is no competing with those groups. There are scarcely any groups like Writers Block so I thought that would be enough to get members. It worked at first that's why this group reached 500+ members. I even try to change the theme ever so often to keep them interested.

I agree. I thought earlier that I had an idea, but I don't. I was sort of just pointing out some things as I thought of them. I'm not even sure my suggestions are good ones, to be honest.
Anyway, I'll float around and hope something else comes to mind.
Actually, one thing that does come to mind is.... what about approaching some of the other writer's groups about forming an alliance or something? I see about 6 or 7 just browsing under the word "Writer" in the group search. What about teaming up with some of them. Surely we can't be the only group with limited activity?

If anyone would like to reach me, feel free to PM, or my IM info is in my sig.

*Out of time, I'll get to this later.

I am very touched, thanks so much. I hope that won't stop you from visiting this group at least every once in a while, okay? Please and thank you (again).

Sure. And crap, I'm going to be late for work! I'll edit this in 10 hours or so. sorry.

Okay. Take your time! :D

About the first part, I'm talking about the general population of members in the group so there is no need to be hard on yourself. I'll share my views once you finish what you need to say.

I'm sorry but what do you mean by that?
Are you asking whether you can be part of us, as a moderator?
