Post Reply Meaning of the Drama Name "Boys Before Flowers"?

Can someone please explain to me the meaning of the drama name "Boys Before Flowers"?

When my friend recommended me to watch this drama I went at the name LOL.

I just thought the name was kind of odd and they didn't really explain the drama name in the drama.

So does anyone know what the real meaning of the drama name is?

My friend told me something like each F4 member represented a flower, but I don't know.

Boys Before Flowers Forever!<333

i not quite sure myself...the japanese title is hana yori dango ryt? as far as i know it means dumplings over flowers... i think it describes the female lead's attitude towards boys ang love, until she met the boys of f4 at least. the phrase can also mean food? over aesthetics

Wow, I never thought of it as bros before hoes..lol, I thought it meant like the girl would chose the guy instead of flowers like (material things) but I guess I was wrong.

It's a Japanese pun, saying "dumplings before flowers ." Which refers to the attendance of hanami (flower viewing) where people would go to the vendors (at the flower viewing event ) first and get food, before seeing the flowers the pun is made by changing the kanji of the title to mean "Boys over Flowers". Note that boys is normally read danshibut the furigana reads dango.

It means choosing 'material' things (boys /dumplings) over 'abstract appreciation' (flowers)
