so what is her relation with rika and hanyuu???does she know her personally?? if she has the power higher than hanyuu then maybe she can do something about things such as dying again and again and such....afterall doesn't she get tired of being killed again and again??? i quite confused....

we can say Frederica as an specator.. she more like an observer just interested in seeing... all we know for now is...

she knows what is going on even before the world starts
she can change the result of the world if she feels like it or if she wants to see anotehr outcome in that world
she has the power to travel throught worlds and her powers have no limits

Hanyuu's powers is travel through worlds... but her powers have limit
Hanyuu do not know what is going on even before the worlds starts

Frederica in Japanese is フレデリーカ (Furederika). I was just saying that it sounds so close to Furude Rika.

I mentioned this in anouther thread and totaly agree with you.
It seems way to big a coincidance, and as far as i've seen the writer of higurishi are to smart to make a mistake like giving two of there charictors simalar names.
so even if they arnt the same person i think there must at least be some conection between them or at least a reason that the writers wanted them to be asociated with each other

Frankly... i find the reason why the author did it this way is to
1) THe Story arc is confusing enough and when the poems is written...they want people to think is written by RIka
2) They want people to get confuse Frederica as Rika

When u see the story arc... u get super confuse with it... in accordance to the game... there is these poems at the start of each arc... Poems to discribe the story happenings...

i was the first person to mention it in this thread...dont i get any love?

nad definitely some kind of connection. similar name and appearance. she even sounds a lot like Rika when she goes into "alive for a thousand years" mode.

she gets all moody like that because she's not the little girl she looks like, but needed to keep up the facade for her friends.

I've already wrote this in another thread, but here it is again.

According to my sources, it was most likely that it WAS Frederica. If you played the Uminko (When the seagull cries), it explains that everything that happens in Higurashi is merely a game played by two 'witches'(beings that exist in a world where concepts such as fate and probability can be visualized), called Lamdadelta, Bernkastel, and there is also a third witch called Beatrice. Takano and Rika respectively are the equivalent of their pawns. Lambdadelta/Takano has the ability to murder with a 99% chance of success, but Bernkastel/Rika possesses the power to "keep throwing the dice if she has a chance to win". As a result Bernkastel/Rika wins eventually, though it does take her about 100 years to do so. The third witch, Beatrice is the only witch in the actual story part of the first Umineko arc. Bernkastel appears in a behind-the-scenes-esque portion and her fight with Lambdadelta is only mentioned in passing. There's still a big chance the whole witches thing (apart from Beatrice) is just some out-of-character easter egg kind of deal and of it having no real impact on either Umineko or Higurashi's storyline. Especially since Higurashi is fiction within the Umineko story as well.

so, what, are the characters we've come to know and love like, double-not-real, or what?

Hm. I remember hearing about something like this. It's very interesting. It almost adds a few new mysteries to the series that were never acctually mentioned in the series. It adds a new element of interest. Very nice!
