I felt like making this thread even though we will be moving sites somewhat soon.

I'd like for discussion of FMA: Brotherhood in comparison to the manga to take place here since we all know the first FMA anime was filler for the most part and the new FMA is sticking to the manga story.

coming episodes
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**

Based off of the ep titles we are not even at ep 10 yet and the anime is already getting to the places the first anime never adapted.

Also, someone mentioned that with the first DVD release there is some kind of special ep included with it, dose anyone know anything about that or did we hear wrong?

you heard right

The DVD/Blu-ray Disc of "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" volume 1 was announced to be released on August 26th. Along with episode 1 and 2, an extra episode "Moumoku no Renkinjutsushi (Blind Alchemist)" will be included in the volume.

The extra episode is based on a side story of "Fullmetal Alchemist" manga published in "Fullmetal Alchemist Perfect Guidebook" (2003). It's about a blind alchemist Judau, who serves the Humbergang family.

I wonder where it falls into the chronology of the episodes?

and if they are doing side stories I hope they also adapt Izumi's Briggs mountain wilderness survial test.

I personally ain't attracted to FMA, it's good but not a favorite...

Reason why I don't read manga is because I ain't attract to the serie... I personally don't think Alchemist is something original to me... Perhaps I played too much game at that time related alchemy

I read it and read it again since someone very close to me is as obsessed about FMA as I am with OP.

it's pretty good, personaly the character development is what I really liked about it..... you just did not see that in the first anime.

My problem is the alchemy theme. Surely, Pirates seems barbaric and FMA does involve Science Vs Religion but again, just not attracted...
I know quite a lot of fans of FMA, and yeah, I personally think they could be weird at times but anyways... FMA was one of my first anime as I recalled, when I started going hardcore on Anime in the last 3 years and truly, I did feel the fillers despise been newbie anime fan
