It was last year, July 2008 when they first saw this "mysterious" creature washed up on the shore. And just this week, they saw another..

from Yahoo! Buzz:

Just when you thought it was safe to take a romantic walk along the beach, another Montauk Monster washes up on the shores of Long Island.

Another, you say? Yes: Last year, the original Monster caused a huge stir across the Web. Nobody knew what it was, but reports indicated it was big, bloated, beaked, and rather gross-looking. Naturally, onlookers couldn't turn away then, and they can't turn away now. (If you're feeling brave and you haven't eaten in a while, check out the story and images from Newsday.)

After Fox News and several other publications reported the latest Monster discovery, queries on the corpulent carcass roared like an angry wildebeest. Within 24 hours, searches on "what is the montauk monster" (a very good question) and "montauk monster pictures" were both red-hot.

Additionally, blogs are now chiming in with their theories on the creature's origin. Was it planted by pranksters? For what it's worth, the urban legend experts at Snopes.com write that there seems to be "no consensus" as to whether the original Monster was real, photoshopped, or just a very large raccoon.

Want to decide for yourself? Beware — even for the Internet, these guys are pretty gross.

Here are some pictures:
Warning to those who are eating, have eaten or have plans on eating.. these pictures are kind of disgusting.

And here's a link to the latest montauk monster found:

So what do you think is it?

Here are some possibilities [from wikipedia] :

* Raccoon (The legs appear to be too long in proportion to the body.)

* Sea turtle (Sea turtles do not have .teeth and their shells are attached to their bodies as in their internal organs, no skin between the shell and the heart....) The creature is said to be a turtle because it appears to have what seems to be a beak. But some photos, with different angles, show that skin and tissue are missing from the front of creature's face.

* Rodent (Rodents have two huge, curved incisor teeth in front of their mouths)

* Dog or other canine such as a coyote. (Prominent eye ridge and the feet don't match)

* Sheep (Sheep don't have sharp teeth)

* An Alien (Nah.)

reminds me of this:

It might be a dog, but not just an ordinary one..

I don't get it.. why don't thy just do a simple autopsy to know what that thing really is?

**edit

Ohhh. The corpse was taken by unidentified people(?)..so the police or any authority didn't had the chance to investigate..
So that makes it mysterious.. }

LOL. It's the Kappa...it likes cucumbers. *Harvest Moon knowledge*
Their pranks range from the relatively innocent, such as loudly passing gas or looking up women's kimonos, to the more troublesome, such as stealing crops or kidnapping children. wahahaha...
