Well How about we just adjust the topic a bit and analyze the criminal mind instead mean why would you turn deviant if you cant think of anything try Death Note for example what made Kira tick.
Hmm I believe the young man and younger sister killed them both in theory wonder if I hit the mark.
Hmm never seen that thread so don't think so

I never seen death note so i can't get the point but you think we should 'adjust the topic a bit and analyze the criminal mind instead', why not place in your thoughts about that and be heard. 'why would you turn deviant if you cant think of anything', absolutely. That kind of thinking is abnormal in the very first place. If you can't think of anything other than that, what's that suppose to show?

I am so sad that this 'thread' died just like that. Isn't it fascinating to watch films about his, is it? I saw the trailer of a movie 'The Condemned'... believe me, how criminal mind works fascinates every audience. I will surely watch this movie. http://www.movieweb.com/movies/film/91/4591/summary.php

I'm very surprised this has never come up: (I can't find it now, just going to ransack my memory)

There's a question that's posed to the criminals in jail:
A young lady whose mother passed away recently, attended the funeral service for her mom. Her only kin left is her older sister with very little age difference. During the ceremony, while both sisters are grieving, one of the visitors who came to give their condolences caught the attention of the younger sister. He was a complete stranger, but he looked handsome and just about right for her age. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to get this man's contact, and her sister had not seen this man at all.

Time passed.

A few weeks later, the young lady attended her older sister's funeral.

What happened? According to research, a very large majority of the criminals derived at the same answer.

Let me guess! The younger girl murdered her sister so there would be another funeral and the chance of meeting the man again?

Kira ticked because he wanted what he believed was the perfect world. That's all.

Feel free to goto university and do a law and justice degree like me then. Criminal psychology is just the tip of the iceberg of interesting things.

I think criminals are interesting, I tend to think along the line of Kinsey when it comes to whats normal and whats not...I guess

I made the mistake of watching a movie about Kinsey with my dad. That was really awkward.

I blame Asperger's for all crimes! And video games! And KMDFM, and Marilyn Manson! On a side note, left handed people have a greater chance to become serial killers.

Here's an outline to start some discussion of various crime reasons

Demographics
Age group
Gender
Ethnicity
Nationality

Necessity
Greed (don't feel like making another group)
Crime Syndicates and other social obligations
Cost of living
Drug addiction
Modus operandi
Group or solo

Social
Anti-establishment acts (anarchists are different enough for me to give them their own group)
Idealists
Specific (JFK)
Ubiquitous (genocide)
Hate crimes
War Crimes

Mental Illness
Physical problems (ex Phineas Gage)
Psychological problems
Revenge
Obsession
Angelism (Read some Walker Percy :))

I read recently about a study showing that the brains of criminals had 10% less volume of grey matter in the frontal cortex.

I think it was from the BBC

I think there was an episode where they explain this. The human mind is really a mystery.

There are definitely a variety of reasons for criminal activity. Greed is a big one, but for me it was more about seeing how much I can get away with without getting caught. I don't want to sound arrogant, but I'm pretty smart, and somehow using my mind in that way was addictive. I rarely if ever commit crimes that affect other people now; that was more an issue when I was doing a lot of coke. It would still be interesting/entertaining, but I prefer not to screw people now that my head is much more clear.

Someone is probably going to try to tell me that it was really all just the drugs, but the drugs just made me lose self control and care less about ethics. They weren't the true reason I would commit crimes.

This thread was dead for 3 years? Way to revive it, ginnygin.
