No, I know they don't speak the same. The Queen, is not your everyday Britain.

I enjoy accents, they're fun.

I dunno, some probably do. But does it matter? And anyways, why are you using only USA in the title? What about other countries?

is it just me and one other person in this thread that knows theres a difference between Britain and England??
you could argue a Welsh, Scottish or Northern Irish accent is British
and there's not just one of each of those accents, there's obvious regional accents in England, but there is also different Scottish accents etc.

I like british accents, but it really gets on my bean when americans take the piss out of us british people for having posh voices.
Woah woah woah.... Most of us dont, its just some who do, and alot of british people dont, we just speak normal english.
But to be fair, we dont really take the micky out of american accents, its just that there extremely annoying.
So in the long run;
American people, get used to the british accent, its annoying to you, but not to us.
British people, get used to the american accent, its annoying to us, but not to them.

Simple :^D

I don't consider all British to speak like the queen. I know you all have different accents and there are many different dialects in the UK. It's just a typical stereotype.
Also, on the topic with accents, I think the british accent overall is really pretty, I also like the Australian accent. *wink ;]
Just like the UK, the US have different dialects in different regions. It's still english, what differs it is the pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar and the slangs you use. Everyone has an accent; I know I have an accent. I have the DC accent (which is like a mix of the southern accents and other accents in the north, we also have different slangs)

No one cares about the Scots. I can't understand a damn thing you people say.

Why is it that Americans spell everything phonetically?
In my opinion the British accent (not counting wales or scotland ) or the London (central) accent , sounds far more sophisticated than any American accent.
