Cosplayers tend to fuck up their VK outfits as well. However, this thread isn't for discussing VK, so I'll refrain from saying anything more. ^^;

Am I surprised that girls in japan are wearing these fashions on the street? absolutely not. Glad in fact. As long as it's not that Ganguro stuff. Melanoma in the making...

lmao my old best friend is into that now...and its weird b/c we use to tease them in the manga...when I first saw them I thought they were black characters, but then I found out what they were called...I was shocked. Its a *cough* unique way to dress...

i thought lolita meant people who are childish and dress up kiddy even though they are in highschool. not emo people

What the fuck? Since when does EGL = emo?

uhm she said not emo people...not...

I agree that loli wear should only be worn for cosplaying reasons, other then that its retarded, or like wear around the house...for photoshoot...so many different categories...is it not all kid clothes, and the guys clothes don't look childish so why is the loli there?

She should have worded her sentences differently. I read it as '...people who are childish and dress up kiddy even though they are in highschool. Instead of emo people.' The way I interpreted it, she assumed that lolita was one thing and then, judging from the other responses to this thread, she got the feeling that others were saying it was for 'emo people.'

I disagree with everyone who's saying that it should only be for cosplaying purposes. Obviously, it'd be incredibly stupid to wearing an EGL outfit to a concert, but there are many lolita meetups where they go to ballets, tea parties, museums, dinners, etc. They all end up looking beautiful. Also, there are times where editors/staff of various EGL magazines/certain authors will hold parties and it's required that everyone attending must wear the clothes.

Dressing as a lolita is totally weird when you're outside Japan. But in Japan, it's majorly common. You can see them walking down the Harajuku streets and shopping around like nothing's going on.

I have nothing against it, I like it. It just doesn't fit everybody.

Go look on pages 2 & 3. There are some pictures of various EGL/EGA outfits.

Lokita,

I said those kind of reasons were ok...just not for everyday wear its retarded how ever nice one looks, itd be like someone wearing a prom dress everyday, or a wedding dress, or a ninja outfit just to wear it only little kids can get away with that, and I mostly mean in america, I hate when ppl go around dressed like they might in nihon, and complain when they get looks or something its like well...

and you'll just have to ask her what she meant I interpreted it a different way, As her saying what she thought it was, and that ppl were making it seem gothy/emo
