people are so quick to bash dubs but i gotta say i know of many animes where the english dub was great. then there are animes where the dub just seemed better then the original japanese.

for me i think my favorite dub was samurai champloo i tried watching it in japanese but it just never seemed as good.

I agree with you there, my good sir, but unfortunately this is an obvious duplicate.

^ He's right.

I've always prefered the Desert Punk dub over the Japanese sub. I also liked the Cowboy Bebop dub better than the sub as well.

Samurai Champloo's dub was good, too.

Dub is with English voice actors.

Sub is when they speak in Japanese, but have English subtitles.

Well, Dub is when you have the audio in a different language

While Sub is when it's in the original language but with subtitles.

So say something is English Dubbed, it means the audio is in a different language.
When something is Japanese Subbed, it means the original language with subtitles in a different language.

So yes, dub can be used for different languages and not only English.

I pretty much like every Dub I see over the Japanese ones. Mainly because I don't like to look at the bottom of the screen. If I wanted to read subtitles, I'd rather go read the manga instead. Not only that, but in the "sub obsession, dub hate" thing is really the opposite for me. I detest nearly every female voice in a Japanese Dub, and all the voices for the young male characters sound the name.

Really, I hear "IT DOESN'T MATCH THE VOICES, THE VOICES ARE TERRIBLE, ALL DUBS SUCK, IF IT WERE THE JAPANESE DUB, IT'D BE AMAZING" sort of crap. Seriously, shit like completely favoring the subs just makes you look like a weaboo. Yes, a god damned weaboo. The reason why the English version is altered in areas other than voices is so that it makes sense to American people. "Josh-u San Sensei CHAN!" Seriously. Even if you were Japanese and lived in Japan your entire life, the Japanese dub would STILL sound awkward and unfitting in many times. A prime example of an English dub being better than its Japanese counterpart is the DBZ dub.

And yet to god, people just go chant "THE DUB SUCKS WATCH THE SUB" about discussions about the DBZ dub/sub.

Anyway, I'd have to pick either Trigun, or Cowboy Bebop.
