Technically Ren and Nana did get married, but I do agree with you on the whole Asami isn't necessarily a total monster (actually she's like any other girl down the street... sort of). It was reasonable for her to act like that, because who would want someone's ex around their loved one logically, or someone that they had a past with? Most of us hate the fact (including myself) that Reira is still attached to Takumi even after all this time. This can be viewed in similarity to the situation between Nobu, Hachi, and Asami. What Asami said to Nana, it really wasn't that bad, although it sounded a bit inconsiderate it wasn't as horrible as many people would think. And yes, like Reira, Nana needs to know how to overcome terrible situations alone as well. Hachi isn't something that can be owned both Nana and Takumi needs to learn that (although I am a TakumixHachi fan). I'm not saying just leave Nana out to dry especially since Ren died. What I'm trying to say is after all the consolidation, leave her alone to pick herself back up. Cuz in the end only she can do that for herself, not Hachi, not Yasu, just herself.

I was just saying that Asami words as simple as it sounded really hit NANA that she cannot have hachi to herself and I know she needed to realize that herself but being made to realize something like that by someone else must have really hurt (I get sad with I look at her eyes in the last page). She does need to stand up herself but the problem she has is that she felt "abandon" sort of speak which has had a huge impact on her since she was a child. Now in a way she feels that ren is really gone he didn't move anywhere but he longer exists in the world. In a way if you look at her mindset she feels all she has left is hachi. Once Hachi leaves the picture I think NANA is going to breakdown and disappear.
But in the flash forwards we are shown she hasn't committed suicide but has reflected on her life thus far and is willing to back to Japan to see her and her friends. Its just right now she is at the point where she will really have metal break down for good reasons. This why I'm saying for now she needs support more than reira does at this point.

I don't dislike Reira but if I were her I would just tell Takumi "thanks for being with me in need but you have wife who is almost about giving birth, at least call her or sth". It's not like that that she can't do sth about this situation...

And... how do you understand Shin's words...? These about Reira feelings? Do you think he is right saying that Takumi loves Reira only as a sister?

If you read the "Takumi" side story, you'll know how's Layla' s love for Takumi is, and how he only cares about her in a sisterly way. He refused to do her back in middle school ("Layla is untouchable for me; I cannot imagine getting my filthy fluids inside her", he thinks that while banging a chick in the girl's bathroom), and when he did her, he felt rotten. He just did it to make sure she doesn't get depressed.

He does love Nana, but he loves Layla the same way Nana loves NANA; in a sisterly way. They are both doing the same thing; Takumi is making sure Layla gets on her feet to sing again, and Nana is doing the same thing with NANA.

About Yuri, I kinda empathize with her this time, but she was very insensitive with NANA. That drama she made, is just for Nobuo. She shouldn't act like that knowing that Nana is just there to make sure NANA gets better. Honestly, I wish Nobuo break up with her; he doesn't love her, and he's just being cruel with poor Yuri. I think Yuri goes better with Takumi.

oh yea I def. do agree that Nana should have people besides her as of now. I'm not saying let's immediately take away all her friends, so she can move on with her life. Thank you for mentioning the abandonment issues part because that reminded me, this ultimately shows that even with all the trials Nana faced through in her life, it did not nec. make her stronger but only made her really unstable. Which is understandable, but in most cases in shoujo mangas these trials would lead the character to grow stronger (such as Hachi). Def. she needs support now, but the reason why I believe what Asami said wasn't that bad (even though a little too early) is because someone has to say that at some point. If Nana got the realization that Hachi isn't a pet dog she can keep, that's good. No matter how sad she becomes, this trial will actually make her stronger and not unstable (unlike with any other situation she was faced with while young). So what I'm saying is,. it's all there for a reason. And dude, I think Reira NEVER needed support XD XD. No matter how much I try to understand this girl (REira) I just can't seem too... And I'm pretty lenient on what characters do in a manga (as you can see how I feel that Asami isn't a total monster).

haha your right Reira really doesnt need support she had a pretty good life all she wants is takumi love ^_^ sad that the princess cannot get the one thing she wants. You I know I do feel bad for her and it think she is only making her life more pitiful just because she wants to love of one man. Thats a sad life to live wanting the love of someone who will never love her back. I can see why takumi feels guilt towards this and wants to make up for it.

How can Shin be so instinctive and mature?! he is always making very good observations on the characters, is he really only 16? It’s Amazing!

Well, because Shin is the way that Yazawa-san decide to use to communicate with us. Shin is the conscience of the series, despite being the youngest. Is quite ironic.

Ai Yazawa is a 41 year old woman; she knows more about life than us.

oh my god, this is such a tease!

i want more -- we all want moree!! XD

i didn't think yuri was being a bitch, though. i guess being brash is just part of her personality, which doesn't make her anymore of a likable character, in my opinion. loved the "oh great, you could sing well even if you can't speak." line! XDD

lol thats an interesting thought with yuri and takumi. I think nobu and her will breakup soon because we don't see her in the flash forwards I guess in the next we will see nobu breaking up with her. Also I wasn't saying that yuri was a COMPLETE monster I was just saying that she needs to be more sensitive of her choice of words. Nobu knows how much hachi means to NANA and NANA did say he has to finish his unfinised business if he wants to persue hachi again.

Either way I hope we get more flashforwards I want to see what going to happen with NANA and hachi.

At the beginning of this manga, I absolutely loved Nana and hated Hachi, I thought that Hachi was just another sweet cute airhead girl that we see in a bunch of amines. But as the manga progressed, I've to say that I hate Nana and despite what most people say I love Reira and like Hachi just fine. Everybody is saying that Reira is a childish bitch and that because of her Takumi is away from Hachi and I'm not even going to start talking about the strange Nana/Ren/Reira thing. Nana is just as childish as Reira but a lot more proud and stubborn, she is keeping Hachi to herself just like Reira is keeping Takumi close, they're their support right now and Reira is suffering too, her relationship with Ren was deep and he cared a lot about her. And I agree that Asami was nasty, but put yourselves in her shoes, the ex-girlfriend of your boyfriend that he has never really got over, is living under the same roof of him and she ( HAchi) is confused about her choices. I would want her out too! And, if I remember correctly, Nana was really horrible to Asami in Reira and Shin's party; I'm annoyed yes with Nana!!!

i'm just curious what part of reira do you love? Was it because of her love for takumi or was it her overall character? There was only part of reira which i hated and that was the time when she begged for takumi but apart from that i find her very intertaining especially her first appearance i thought it was epic. Just imagining nobu's image of reira vanished into thin air after hearing her asking for shin's price it was so funny..
I agree with the things you’ve said especially about yuri and I add to that yuri was also insecure about their relationship knowing that she was the one who take initiative to be with nobu. The things she said was just right I have nothing against it but it was a bad timing so it looks like she ruined the fun.

Looks like the next chapter will have some sort of confrontation between Hachi, Takumi and Reira at the hospital. It seems like Hachi is putting together that something happened between Reira and her husband. It's just a matter of time before she finds out.
