Is Acne A Turn Off?
Posted 5/26/09
I remember the time when one said, "don't punch me on the face."

Depends...if its a few i dont mind cuz everyone goes thru puberty...
but if its like ABSOLUTELY covering the entire face then YES its a turn-off....

I don't care if it's just a little but too much is bad DX
Posted 5/26/09
Nah.
getting zits is a part of growing up, but if you don't have a good skin care regimen......that is a turn off.

What you eat and what you don't eat shows on the outside. Your physical appearance shows how well or how badly you take care of yourself. It's kind of hot when someone doesn't have a lot of acne. It shows you know HOW to take care of yourself, and you're responsible with what goes into your body.

And the more you have, the more unattractive it is. Especially when your acne is accompanied with 500 pounds of pure fat, nasty-ass funk, and horrible scraggly hair.

Common misconception. Acne vulgaris has been proven to be a genetical factor. Some people are genetically predisposed to get them and they can't do anything against that. All they can do is try to make the symptoms milder but that's about it.

All I know is that whenever I eat stuff like peanut butter, chocolate, etc. my skin gets very oily and I get zits. And I know that this is the case for many other teenagers.

I've read articles that state that a lot of zits we get are not our fault, yet they also tell you to stay away from dairy products and such.

In general, most people will get acne around puberty, its just a part of a phase. Then of course, some people get a lot more than others and require more precautions in taking care of it.

Is it a turn off? It depends. Even though some people get more acne than others, most of it is manageable through medicine, diet, and other health factor. So in this sense, if one doesn't take care of it at all, generally guys, then yes, it can become a huge turn off. There's nothing more unappealing about a person than a guy/girl who sweats too much, doesn't take care of his/her body, and occasionally, pick on it in public. As I have mentioned previously, its generally guys who fit into this category since they're less likely to take care of their body.

it depends, it's normal to have acne and I do myself, but it can be nasty when there's too much of it. I use makeup to clear mine.

True, it's never too pretty to look at, but like you stated already; it's a part of life && everyone goes through it. Kinda harsh to dump someone over something they can't control. Especially based on appearance. But whatever.
