Wow, talk about pathetic excuses for parent, "Yeah, just leave a loaded gun around in plain sight". The kid was obviously quite angry and at maturity level the girl the girl can easily make stupid decisions. Way to go, retarded parents , hope to see them behind bars.

That child has to grow up the rest of her life knowing she shot her own brother.
How horrible.

Poor little girl. Those are what I call irresponsible parents. That little girl's going to grow up having some serious issues knowing she killed her brother.

This country needs stricter gun control laws.

Why is everyone saying, "Poor little girl .". Does nobody have any compassion for the boy shot? Having problems living is one thing, but being dead is a totally different matter. Oh well, everyone cares for the living and doesn't give a crap about the dead anyways. So, who would hide a gun under the bed? If you need it for an emergency like a break in, trying to look under a bed isn't all that easy, or smart.

Dumb parents evolved from stupid kids.
Soo yeah.
Still, you shouldn't blame the child.

Eh, it's cause the girl is going to remember this the rest of her life I suppose, that's why their is pity for her.

Actually, I don't think stricter gun control laws would make much different in cases like these because . . . well . . . you see . . . the law cannot control where the gun holder put the gun in his house

I mean . . . he could put the gun inside the closet, for heaven's sake, and the law wouldn't know anything about it

Death is not necessary a sad thing, KariKun. Death is an eternal slumber, a rest for eternity. It is scary when it is approaching, but it becomes peaceful when it has finally came upon us.

Death is not the greatest loss in life; the greatest loss is what dies within the living. I, too, feel no sadness toward the boy who died, only sympathy. He who died cannot feel anything; nothing at all, not even the boundless vastness of nothingness. The girl, however, will have to live with the guilt and torments, suffering for the rest of her life. I feel rather sad for her, you know.

The only ways for her to escape the suffering are to either change the way she thinks of life and death or to cope with the fact that she killed her brother. In other words, to accept the fact that she killed her brother with little or no emotion at all. Well, I guess she could also just forget about it all together, which won't be very easy.

Besides, tragedy affects a person's maturity in many ways, depending on hte person's nature and the environment that she is living in. I wonder how significant this would be . . . toward her personality . . . later on.
