yakisoba and the original japeneese ramen

Both are very good! In fact, when I leave Japan (I'm stationed here right now, about 40 minutes or so from Tokyo by train), I'll definitely miss having REAL ramen!

Udon and Dango

Udon's okay, I personally don't like the thickness of it; dango, I like it on occasion, but it's not sweet like one would think! In fact, Japanese sweets just aren't our definition of 'sweet'. Some people have tried dango for the first time only to screw up their face and cry out, 'Ew, this ain't sweet!' One thing I have grown to love is sweet potato ice cream--yep, sweet potato ice cream. As far as noodles go, I like the soba and buckwheat noodles. And I wasn't feeling the cold noodles--yuck! There are a lot of foods I'll miss here...wish I could take them with me!

If I do eat udon, it's gotta be in small amounts; I get full pretty quickly off of udon...I wasn't sure about sweet potato ice cream, either, but I tried it and love it! It's the black sesame ice cream I'm not so sure of; it's a dark gray/black-looking ice cream.
