Lord of the Rings is okay but too long winded and should have originally been written as a movie script to begin with

JRR Tolkien started writing Lord of the Rings a little over EIGHTY YEARS AGO. it was first published almost SIXTY years ago, around 1955.
i don't know if i need to tell you to get back to school, or to get back under your bridge.

I have to say, the designs of the mechs aren't very impressive. Also, I'm not too fond of the art style in general. The character designs are similar to those of Gundam SEED with light hitting hair way too hard and.... well I can go on..
Fanservice in general doesn't appeal to me I guess.

My someone has a temper. Anger management perhaps?

To me I see it as something that originally would have been better as a movie at first, despite how long it took the author to write the story.

I went to college, I have my own likes and dislikes, and just like your outburst I have the right to voice my opinions too and discuss in a civil manner.

I majored in Engineering Design Technology while still in high school, through a vocational school. I finished two years worth of work in one month. Kindly mind your mouth. The discussion is about the authors, not a personal fight attacking the education level of fellow users. Focus.

well let's look at it your way then. the year is 1950ish. JRR Tolkien has come up with this epic movie script. he takes it to hollywood. "9 hour movie? are you stupid? get out!!" and JRRT and script are tossed out on their asses.
alternately:
it might have been a groundbreaking 2 hour movie, as pure fantasy movies were almost unheard of. of course at 2 hours long, it wouldn't have been anything special, and would have been mostly forgotten in a few years.

seriously. really stop and consider what kind of movie it would be if it were released way back then.
FYI, there -were- animated released of LotR made in the early 80's or late 70's or something... go find a copy, and check it out. then imagine lower quality, and cut half of it out.

you're welcome to your likes and dislikes, same as anyone else is. but you might want to stop and consider how reality would affect them first.

Mind your language. No need to cuss to get a point across, it shows how childish someone is the more they rely on cuss words to make a sentence, although you are better than most.

The movies were incredible, although to me I have seen movies go both ways with special effects -- some abuse them and rely on large explosions every ten-twenty minutes to hold the audience's attention, others use them in a way that compliments the movie, such as the incredible CG in Lord of the Rings trilogy movies.

Star Trek is a good series example of people giving it their all to build the scenery physically without the extensive use of computer graphics generation. And for me I strongly believe that if people want to make something like that possible despite the current level of technology, they are very capable of doing so, although the battle scenes would lack the numbers without volunteers.

I have seen the animated version of "The Hobbit" and have a copy of the video tape.

Unfortunately, while the general public may remember the story, because of the major trends that seem to rule the movie theaters, eventually the people that watch the newer Lord of the Rings movies are going to start to dwindle when people become infatuated with the new movies coming out. Then comes in the generation gaps, availability (removal from shelves, copies getting damaged upon rental) and the desire for something different.

Walking into a second hand book store there are books echoing the stories of author's hearts everywhere, one cannot help but wonder which stories will be forgotten in the years to come, and which will live on as a legend.
