I have to admit, at first I didn't like Ayumi at all...i felt that she let that "prodigy" thing get to her head...unlike maya, ayumi knows she's the best to she was a little too confident to me...but then after, i realized that she might be confident, but she's also fair...i like how she wants to win, only by her skill alone...that takes guts...so how do i feel about her? I LIKE HER...haha

changed my mind xD she's an awesome actress although she's cold at times, she's levelheaded. i say that she's the ideal actress b/c she holds herself up well all she needs is to experience love and she'll be a perfect actress ^^(well not perfect perfect b/c there is no such thing). i agree w/ everything papagolfwhiskey said. she could be a spoiled rich brat and use her parents as connections but she holds herself up with pride and uses her talent to get her through the acting world. i could totally see her as maya's best friend too ^^ they would have so much fun together...now only if maya stopped being so intimidated by ayumi(maya always does that its like evrytime she sees her its like "ayumi-san" in a scared-ish threatened way) you noe how they say, keep your friends close but keep your rivals (enemies closer) but in this case, ayumi is a rival and a friend xP all in all ayumi is awesome! ^^

I kind of like her.

She could so easily be a spoiled rich kid. but she's not. not really. She's a determined and skilled actress being chased by her own demons. She may be a rival to Maya but she's not an enemy. in fact there's that anime trope of a rival somehow being a more true and close friend than some who claim to love her.

Given that Ayumi thinks she's she's "never won against Maya" (her words)
Maya does need to get a little more confidence. I like that though they are competitors, there is no comtempt between them it's almost as if they are the only two who really understand each other.

I enjoy her character very much for a number of reasons and cant say that I ever "disliked" her particularly. She is as responsible for Maya's improvement and growth as an actress as Masumi or Tsukikage. In a competitive environment you can never give your best effort unless you have a challenger that can set a benchmark to meet. Conversely, the same thing is true with regards to Ayumi. They are actually very similar people who just started on opposite ends of the same curve.... if that makes any sense.

I agree hard work is more admirable and easier to relate to than Natural talent.

but Maya is being carried by her talent. she's a hard worker too. sometimes that talent is a curse. remember when she failed becuase she BECAME the wind but did not EXPRESS the wind.

Yeah and Ayumi doesn't really enjoy what she does huh. She's only doing it just to be number 1. But i still like her regardless

I think they both enjoy what they do and in fact are hard workers. The difference between them is in part natural talent, but more so motivation, background, and training. Truthfully Ayumi is very talented as well, hard work by itself is never enough to get to the top of any field.

I never said Ayumi didn't enjoy acting. I think her professional approach would make her a much better actor to deal with. Again both characters seem to have what the other lacks to make a complete ideal actor. You could argue that Ayumi is Maya's other half.
