Acid Jazz? If you are looking for any American/English bands, then try The Soft Machine (3rd album and after, as their first two are mainly just psychedelic weirdness), Gong (more psychedelic weirdness, but they have a jazz influence), Medeski Martin and Wood, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, some Frank Zappa, and Garaj Mahal. Hope that helps.

No youtube link? How rude of you :(

Nonetheless, thanks for informing me about them.

Try out the Geist Jazz Band with the occassional saxist Issay from Sound Holic. They are a doujin circle (hence the majority [all] of their stuff being Touhou arranges) from Japan. So far, the only way to find their stuff is off of Sound Holic albums, unfortunately.

Just youtube search "geist jazz band" for more.
Really good stuff.

I love old big jazz/blues ladies like Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin and Etta James. And one gentleman, mister Louis Armstrong

Got to start some place.

Also, this isn't a forum. This is a thread in a forum.

I am not really knowledgeable in this genre; however, I have been listening to Tom Fox. Acid Jazz is within his parameters, so if you guys haven't check him out yet, I'd recommend you to do so since he's pretty good.

Been in contact with Jaga Jazzist, the album won't be released before early 2010.

Love Chris Botti from Jazz his play is so great

I've been looking more into Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, and other free jazz/generally bizarre stuff. And I love Squarepusher, who isn't strictly jazz, but kind of like electronica/jazz fusion/complete weirdness (kind of like Aphex Twin but heavily influenced by jazz and funk), and he is an INCREDIBLE bass player. I saw him live about 6 years ago and was blown away.

Dimension is a Japanese Jazz Fusion Band, which I think it's pretty cool.
