Ruroni Kenshin, the guy is also known as "Himura Battosai" or "Battousai the manslayer" from his days of fighting. Samuri X movie, Ruroni Kenshin tv series, and OVA. Also a manga that was featured in Shonen JUMP. If you haven't seen it yet, go and watch it now! It's great! I'll warn you that the movie and OVA and to some extent manga are a little dark and depressing, while the series was made a lot "lighter" to appeal to a wider range of audiences.
