I can't speak for the company but if we produced the backwards system people/fans would ask "Why did they just produce a expandation for the PS2?" so it's mainly due to the mass marketing backlash.

MAC-ATTACK 10895 cr points Send Message: 21 / M / yo ma'z place Online	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 7/6/09 im a big PS2 fan so dont get me wrong, but the reason that the ps2 beat out the xbox was cuz it had an overflow of games, so much so that one out of ever three games would be recognized for their greatness, while the other two games are either trash or a barried treasure that only few people know about, like beyond good and evil, or amplitude and frequency, with the scant amount of games that the ps3 has put out it is no wonder why the 360 is kicking our ass ps the wii is not a console, it is a run on penis joke created in the 80s
