lowering the fan noise and power bill are not good reasons to scrap it, they should find a way to incorporate it and work around it

The only thing I would want is a region free DVD player. So I can watch all my Japanese DVD's in hi def. Oh well, I can live with watching the Japanese DVD's in 480p. FYI the reason why PS3 are not backward compatible is the the price. Sony found out that most people would rather have a cheaper PS3 then backward compatibly.

I still have my PS2 from like 10 years ago, and it still works perfectly as if it was new, I've played the hell out of it since I have around 60-70 PS2 games, but I'm fine with my PS3 since I have the fat one, it has PS2 and PS1 backwards compatability and you can create virtual memory cards inside, so no hassle =D I just grabbed my old PS1 games, like Megaman Legends and Metal Gear Solid 1, popped it in, and played and beat them on my PS3.

What the PS3 is missing that I really want desperately is being able to listen to my music while playing video games. I know SOME games have it because their producers included that feature, but I want that feature included in the PS3 so it works universally. I'm tired of playing games that I've sadly memorized the soundtrack to. I want to kill some guards in Assassin's Creed while listening to some stalker-like music, or listen to metal when I'm surrounded by 15 of them. Curse you Microsoft for getting a patent on that feature... I dunno how long they bought it for, but I hope it expires soon. I have both consoles, but I use the PS3 more. I only play 360 when its for Gears or Halo

I would also like to see backwards compatability on other PS3 consoles...I'm running out of space on my 60gb, and I'm considering getting a new PS3. I don't care for PS2 backwards compatability since my PS2 still works perfectly healthy and I still have all the games and memory cards, but I wanna play some of my PS1 games again, to relive my childhood. I don't feel like buying every PS1 game on the PS Store for 2-5 dollars each, and the PS Store doesn't have all my games anyway, only a couple.

i agree 100% with the music thing i find game sound tracks to be quite poor in general and your own music would make playing a better experience.

I have original 60gb too and you can upgrade the hard drive with a standard 2.5 inch SATA hard drive.

the layout/feel/design of the ps store could do with changing too

A free wireless head set should come with the PS3 like the Xbox, then I could actually get to talk to someone else on multiplayer for a change. It should be compatible with 7.1 surround sound systems and all games should be in Dolby True HD and DTS HD instead of just DVD quality Dolby Surround Sound and DTS. It should have a peripheral to turn it into set top box for watching films on and it should be able to record TV on blu-ray and it Hard Disk Drive. It should also be able to record from games. All games should be in 1080p HD.
