No, but obviously I was less than clear.

I don't disagree with many of your points. I just found your "tone" to be a tad bitter. Your word choices appeared angry and contemptious. There is an apparant underlying theme of "CR is not giving me what I deserve"

CR doesn't owe us (paying members) anything other than what's in the contract. They have no moral obligation beyond that. If there's something in the membership agreement that says "CR will give members all the inside dope on upcoming contracts" Then you have a case for your bitter and self important demands.

Having said that. I agree that it is smart of them to keep us happy. But maybe they aren't smart. Your theory that they would delay release in order to keep short term members signed on ONLY makes sense if they give us dates. otherwise people would be tempted to let their membership lapse and re-up only when the show they wanted was actually available.

Anyhow as I said. My objection, If it can be called such, was not to the general wisdom and possible truth of your points. but instead to the tone and word choice and apparant belief in entitlement that underlay that tone.

Remember CR can't run around saying things they have no right to. They could be making a deal for the rights to stream any number of shows right now but they cant say it if they are. Why? Because businessmen learned a long time ago that making a promise that looks solid or giving info that seems legitimate before it is written in stone is a losing formula.

Which will make users of all types more upset? Claiming they have Skip Beat Season 2 and it is coming to CR but the deal falls through at the last minute..... or just never saying anything on the subject? It is fairly obvious which it is. Is this policy hard on the users, yes. But it is also the safest practice for business's of this type. I will be the first to say I wish CR was more communicative when it came to release schedules. I do however understand why they are so tight lipped from a business perspective, and it is just plain unreasonable to ask or expect a business to do something that is going to hurt it long term.

Don't get me wrong. Customers do have a right to complain and demand more from a business, especially paying customers. However a customer also needs to understand what is reasonable and what is not. Shinji isn't trying to rip anyone off but he is trying to honor his responsibility to the customers by not making promises he guarantee and staying focused on getting new content for this site. His responsibility is not replying to posts on forums and everyone should understand that. Also please remember the site has a large base of users, but not such a large base of actual customer support. Bear with CR and you will get the rest of this show, tons more new content, and the customer service issues will get fixed too probably sooner rather than later if I had to bet on it.

On another topic.

Crunchyroll gives me one thing NO other streaming site or fan site can give me.

a clean concience.

I'm not saying I won't watch unlicensed contact if I cannot get it any other way.
But I pay money to use crunchy roll. and use crunchy roll religiously for the content that it actually carries becuase I actually don't mind paying for my pleasures. I support crunchroll because I want the concept to be a success.

"back in the day" bootleg Betamax tapes imported directly from japan on passenger planes (or nth generation copies thereof) were the only way to watch anime. More recently, when local importers began making a business of it, expensive VHS and later DVDs would start arriving perhaps some 2-5 years after a show had aired in japan. (anyone remember the wait for the Evangelion Movie?)

(which actually reminds me of Kharkov's point. ADV kept showing promo's some anime (I think it was Spriggan) for so long the anime went from cuttting edge state of the art in the promo's to ho hum by the time I watched. Though I think I also waited an extra year becuase by the time ADV kept it's promise. I really didn't care anymore)

NOW we get legal, professional subbed copies an hour after they are shown in japan with just the click of a mouse button. And a membership? well at $30 1990's dollars for a 50 minute VHS. my old anime habit would pay for a LOT of months here on CR. GOD!! CR Is so Cruel to it's customers!! WAH!!

lets clear up the difference between asking the makers of skip beat if they plan to ACTUALLY make a season2 and talking about contract negotiations.

I never said they had to divulge information which may or may not affect potential contracts.

as for asking the developers if they have any plans to continue a series because there's interest from the fans and taking the time to tell those fans either yay or nay or even we can't get an answer is better than completely ignoring the members who have been asking in numbers large enough to warrant said inquieries and some form of answers.

saying a second season will exist does in no way divulges contractual information even if developers haven't set who will make it or any other pertinent part of the process has been set.

as for your whine about getting anime legally Crunchyroll should work but as long as you and many others don't stand up as consumers you'll continue to promote their indifference to their fan base in other words the total lack of news relating to ongoing series/ episodes being doled out irregularly/ page formats which function far less than original formats did/ eyesore advertisements/ and many other failings will get no attention because people like you are willing to put up with anything they toss at you and keep paying them for it.

if they keep it up I'd prefer to get my anime free elsewhere on formats that work better if for no other reason than to not support the indifference which is prevalent here.

there we disagree

I don't think they ARE indifferent.

I do think your posts protray an overinflated sense of entitlement. but I can be misreading that . It's hard to judge tone on the internet.

For example any 'whining' in my previous post was meant as sarcasm.

anyhow. this appears to be turning into a thread about CR's competence as service providers. And a clash of personalities. I apologise to anyone bothered by yet another example of why it is foolish to argue on the interet.

I shall cease throwing wood on this fire.

Has anyone noticed that the schedule for Tuesday is up and Glass Mask isn't on it again?
I want to be patient, but this is the very situation that persuaded me not to purchase a membership.
The show went off the air like 2 years ago, it only needs to be subbed and loaded.
Does anyone know if that will happen this week? Next week? Before August?
Anyone?

the above is a perfect example of whats wrong at crunchyroll.

don't need a degree in business to know when the paying customer is repeatedly left hanging they will cease to be customers eventually!

try looking at quite a few series forums they all have threads where people ask "does anyone know whats happening with this series"

and unfortunately crunchyroll makes no effort to deal with these inquiries unless by happenstance they planned some promo that's related to the series.

glass mask is a 2005 series it was completed to 51 episodes to suddenly leave the last 4 eps off for a few weeks shows how little crunchyrolls ability to serve its members is. (don't say its a contractual discussion holding them back from airing them on the same schedule as they set up for the last 47 episodes)

I mentioned the coming soon page when the date was already beyond the dates filled in on it<<< another service flaw

they post a partial spring schedule in the forums for new releases and never bother posting part 2 to that thread.

by all evidence they don't have a clue whats going to air next week much less whats going to be aired during spring summer fall and winter.

being expected to pay for memberships a month or months in advance with a schedule which is never properly updated or even reflects some kind of regularity of releases is like going to a garage paying for a valve job and the mechanic decides to change your oil instead and doesn't bother telling you of the change while keeping the cash.

Enough is enough man. It isn't CR who posts episodes you do know that right? The shows are uploaded by the actual producers of the shows and CR has to release the episodes on a schedule of some kind I am sure. But it isn't CR who gets to decide that schedule it is the people who produce the shows. Also this show may be "two years old" but it still hasn't even been fansubbed all the way and since the fansubbers had a 30+ episode lead when the first episodes were posted on CR but have since fallen behind CR in the number of shows done I don't really think you have any room to complain. Of course you could wait three to six months for your free fansub, of course the group subbing Glass Mask doesn't have it on a set schedule either do they?

your describing simulcasts while talking about an OLD series. and your wrong it has been fansubbed for those of us not stuck only understanding english. its in french spanish and russian already just because an english sub group hasn't finished it does not mean it has not been by others.

as for fansubbers releasing eps they are far more reliable than crunchyroll is proving to be so you end up looking pretty dumb defending them on that count alone!

older series are ((bought in lots)(one season at a time)) not fed out one ep at a time by the producers get a clue about the industry before you post.

While fansubbers may have been more reliable it doesn't change the fact that crunchyroll is legal. Which means it is at the whims of the companies that have rights to the anime. So they have to wait for the go ahead if they want to keep posting episodes. Since this is the only group of english subbers that has actually subbed glass mask past 41+ then your greedy {censored} is gonna have to wait. I guess if you really wanted to watch it you could learn japanese or some other language that has subbed it, but I doubt you will. The reasons you won't are because all you really wanna do here is complain and learning another language takes more effort than typing your keys. Personally I'm frothing at the bit for these episodes, but I am glad there is a legal way to view them.
